Sick of my Bose 2.1

So I own a Bose gemstone 2.1 system. It was cool at first, because it took less space and looked sleek in the living room. Now that I've rearranged some furniture the sound just plain sucks. And I don't care about space anymore. I want to enjoy my movies! I think all but "tower" speakers would be acceptable by the wife.

I don't have a huge budget, and I found this: Denon DHT-1513BA with Boston Acoustics speakers. Image attached.

Just looking for some insight and advice for something at this price point. $500-700

Thanks in advance!

Home theater in a box... No, just no. Don't do it.

Things to know: The center channel should be the best speaker you own. The L/R and surrounds should be the same quality.

This is a good example of it done right http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/value2pkg.html

My advise is get a good 2.1 system. Then when you can afford it add the center and surrounds.

Rule of audio: Bose sucks! Maybe years ago they made decent stuff, not anymore! You suffer from "listener fatigue" because you are getting bits of what is there. "No highs-no lows-that's Bose" is the common phrase. Check out this site:
www.accessories4less.com they sell factory re-furb equipment from top manufacturers, and it is good quality stuff.
Listen to Billy up there- avoid HTIB. You can get all the advice you need here from experts.
It just "looks" complicated, don't be intimidated!
