Movie Props for Decoration

Anyone else using movie prop replicas for decoration in or just outside your home theater? Since finishing the sound system on my 11.1.6 home theater with extracted "Pro Logic" based Top Middle and Matrix extracted front wides and side surround #2 (aka rear wides). (Click signature link for photos and description), I've taken to decorating mine a bit. I've attached some photos below to show my latest.

From Left to right:

-Katana that Morpheus used in The Matrix Reloaded (sitting under a Thomas Kincade tapestry that can light up being used along with another on the other side to rid the room of flutter echo and early side wall reflections)

-License plate "Outatime" from Back to the Future along with a 1:24 scale DeLorean time machine; The Maltese Falcon from the movie of the same name ; Tron lightcycle scale model from Tron: Legacy

-Close up of Maltese Falcon

-Anakin/Luke/Rey Lightsaber and Han Solo Blaster from Star Wars

-Blade Runner 2049 Memory Crystal on Light Stand

-Lord of the Rings "The One Ring" sitting in front of the Return of the King box set

-Bastard Sword from Conan The Barbarian and Conan The Destroyer (Distant and close-up). You can also see the Hellraiser Lament Configuration Box in the first picture on the table under glass (wouldn't want someone accidentally opening a door to Hell in my room; that would be a mess with my speakers on the walls).

-Phurba Dagger from The Shadow (1994)

-Push Dagger that killed Dobby the elf by Bellatrix and Bellatrix poster from Harry Potter series

-Elder Wand, Horcrux Locket and Prophesy Crystal Ball from Harry Potter movies

-"Imam" version of Staff of Ra Headpiece from Raiders of the Lost Ark on a staff attachment

-New Back View of Room showing new placement of Raiders Fertility Idol, Staff Medallion pieces and Ark of the Covenant

-Ark of the Covenant 1/6 Scale Model

-Hellraiser "Lament Box" shot from above followed by the Closeup. This version has real brass inlays like the static movie version)

-The next three pictures are "Raven Bar" version, the Acme Artifacts "Imam" version and the Bam Box "Imam" version of the Staff of Ra Medallion prop recreations

-Closeup of Fertility Idol from Raiders of the Lost Ark (scene at beginning of movie) from its old position along with a resin version of the Staff Of Ra Medallion

-New Galaxy Sphere for the Blade Runner light base that looks pretty cool lit up on it, similar to the galaxy necklace sphere from MEN IN BLACK

-From half bathroom off theater (Jurassic Park Crane Fly in Amber, "Spectre" ring from the James Bond movie and a bunch of little guys performing a ceremony with a little ark). Fifth Element Stones on the way...

-From half bathroom off theater (Fifth Element Stones as Tea Candle Holder empty and filled with candles and a character from Hotel Transylvania visible off to the right)

-"Belloq/Toht" version of the Staff of Ra Medallion from Raiders of the Lost Ark (Made by RelicMaker). Raised markings only on one side. It wasn't shown in the movie, but discussed.

- "MK" Version of the Staff of Ra Medallion (front/back and mounted on the Staff itself). This one is the oldest in my collection now at well over 20 years old and made of Solid Brass with a real topaz crystal or as Harrison Ford's character Indiana Jones put it, a "worthless bronze medallion". This was made with the parent mold of the well known and still occasionally made "Acme Artifacts" version, an example is shown above and you can see the similarities, but this one is bronze and has more detail on it; the Acme is pewter plated in gold from a copy of the same mold)

- "Relicmaker" version of the Staff of Ra Medallion front and back photos and side edge photo to show the extreme wire-braid detail ("Imam" version from where the guy reads the inscriptions). This is a second generation mold with a soldered wire braid and as close to the screen version as you can get reproduction wise (one mold removed and otherwise identical visually and how it's constructed).

- New Bookshelf Indy Display (Mayan Calendar Silver Necklace, the Indy Fertility Idol, MK, Acme and Indy Magnoli Staff of Ra Headpieces)

-Closeups of Silver Mayan necklace and new Mayan bronze medallions for the surround #2 speakers) followed by the new overview of the Indy Poster area and a closeup of the "Raven Bar" version of the Staff of Ra on a Landron base with Marion's necklace (reproduction) around it.

-Closeups and overview of the sphinxes from The Neverending Story (6 inch high scale)

- Indiana Jones Bookshelf Display (Left to Right: Fertility Idol, Three Staff of Ra Medallion renditions MK, Acme and Indy Magnoli, Elsa's Lucky Lighter, The Holy Grail)

- Indiana Jones Bookshelf Display updated (Left to Right: Urn of Nurhachi, Sankara Stones, Idol of Fertility, Antidote (champage glass with diamond behind it), Three Staff of Ra Medallion renditions MK, Acme and Indy Magnoli, Elsa's Lucky Lighter, The Holy Grail, Shot glass from Raven Bar in Raiders, Mayan Calendar medallion)

- Side view of Ark of the Covenant with Raven Bar Shot glass next to it that shows scale

Edit (4-1-19): Changes to reflect newer items added later in thread to photos in original post
Edit (4-17-19): Added new gold plated Staff of Ra Headpiece photos attached to staff top (removable)
Edit (5-6-19): Added Ark of the Covenant 1/6 scale model to room (swapped Raiders and TRON: Legacy poster positions) and New accurate Lament Box from Hellraiser
Edit (5-10-19): Added "Raven Bar" Staff of Ra Medallion and closeup of a couple of "Imam" versions I bought as well and edited descriptions for new back room view, etc. and new "Galaxy" Sphere for light base and bathroom display.
Edit (5-13-19): Added Fifth Element Stones (Tea Candle Holders)
Edit (5-22-19): Added photo of Fifth Element Stones with candles loaded and new "Belloq/Toht" version of the Staff of Ra Medallion from Raiders of the Lost Ark (one-sided raised markings only from where Toht burned his hand on the medallion)
Edit (5-25-19): Added photos of another Staff of Ra Medallion and the full staff itself ("MK" version) I just bought that's over 20 years old.
Edit (6-3-19): Added photos of the "Relicmaker" Staff of Ra Medallion (closest to on-screen reproduction currently made and visually identical).
Edit (6-20-19): Added photos of the chain necklace that Marion Ravenwood wore in Raiders of the Lost Ark and new Mayan Calendar medallions for the the surround #2 speakers
Edit (7-5-19): Added photos of the sphinxes from The Neverending Story
Edit (7-31-19): Added Bookshelf display showing new Elsa's Lucky Lighter and The Holy Grail from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Edit (8-17-19): Additions made to Indiana Jones bookshelf display (Urn, Champagne glass, diamond, Sankara stones (they light up) and antidote from Temple of Doom)
Edit (8-21-19): Accurate champagne and shot glasses (Temple of Doom and Raiders) added to displays: overview of bookshelf display updated

And, not really a "prop"...but I modded my ceiling fans to appear like they were powered by Arc Reactors:

I've got a few more ideas, but this is it, for now.

@Shane661 I like the ceiling fan. A blue bulb might really make it look sweet, though.

Bellatrix's LeStrange's push dagger and Harry/Voldemort's prophesy crystal ball/globe and Horcrux Locket added along with a Bellatrix mini-poster....

I haven't decided on whether to back lite the globe by the wand display or set it by the dagger and use the backlight for the Blade Runner 2049 data crystal that's on its way....

(Photos in both positions included below)

I've added a 4-LED color light puck behind the Harry Potter crystal ball with some tissue paper set up around to cover the puck and hide stray light. It cycles through the different colors and fades. The tissue paper actually gives it some freaky shapes that almost look like faces with some parts of the light sequence...kind of creepy and cool at the same time (also hard to show, but here's a two frame composite to give an idea).

A couple more additions to the decor (10-strip 35mm film display and mini-poster for Conan the Barbarian to set next to the sword) and "The One Ring" from Lord of the Rings released during Return of the King.

I've got a new gold plated pewter Staff of Ra Headpiece (with detachable staff top) from Raiders of the Lost Ark and meanwhile some guys invaded my half bathroom and seem to be starting a ceremony in there....

Not exactly a movie prop (similar to the "Galaxy" necklace sphere from Men In Black, though), but this "Galaxy" sphere looks great on the same lighted base holder I use with the Blade Runner 2049 Memory Orb reader.

^^ Nice props. Now for the "cheap" or as my wife would say "tacky" approach. Admittedly when a twenty something daughter borrows your Star Trek mannequin costume for Halloween it loses some of the decoration appeal and sadly the Minion stand (wearing the pants) I got yesterday didn't go over well with the wife/daughters...but I think it has an almost Christmas Story feel to it.

I like the Star Trek costume. I like that "bottom" bust the Minion is sitting on too (curvy ). Is that a sword I see on the left wall in the dark?

Yep. I had a "cheap pointy thing phase" about twenty years ago so I put the one "safe" thing on the wall....I guess it could take out an eye but that is about it.

One of these days I'll get "sections" organized (Marvel/DC/comics (decades worth), horror, reading, Star Trek/Wars, former career)...probably in the next real HT house with an open basement for a "cleaner" look, but for now "even with all the time in the world" thanks to retiring at 54, I'm fairly content with messy for reading and watching the 151.5" TV. Plus it gives the wife and "grown" daughters something to gripe about...the gollum in the basement with his precious "junk".

Hey, a Captain America shield! Is that Kurgan's sword from Highlander? I dunno about covering Scarlet's face with a mask, though.... I'd rather hang her cardboard image above my bed on the ceiling.

I see you have a lightsaber as well.

New "Belloq/Toht" version of the Staff of Ra headpiece (not shown, but implied in the movie made from Toht's burned hand and only one sided). This one is made my RelicMaker and made of Pewter with a red crystal.

Another Staff of Ra Medallion from Raiders of the Lost Ark has arrived ("MK" version made well over 20 years ago of solid brass with the same crystal shown in the movie) along with the full staff to go with it (That's 8 now plus a lapel pin version I got in recently as well. I seem to be obsessed with Raiders medallions...

Added new version of the Staff of Ra Medallion (Imam version) by Relicmaker. This is a second generation mold (i.e. mold is made of a production used version and this cast from that). It has the separate wire-braid soldered on just like the on-screen version and is made from pewter plated in 24K gold with a real topaz jewel. Photos show front back and the side view of the wire braid.

I bought some movie worn wardrobe items that I intended to frame and hang in a media room.
one of Vince Vaughn's suits from Wedding Crashers
James Garner's wardrobe from The Notebook

I ended up selling both after holding on to them for a couple of years. Having a house in SoCal is expensive, one with a dedicated media room large enough to display framed suits/clothes is another level of expense I cannot afford.

Vinyl, tape, digital... I don't care as long as I can listen to my music...

Yeah, I can't imagine living in Southern California anywhere near the coast. I'd be broke. The cost of living in Ohio is quite a bit lower...ok like 60 years worth of California prices going through the roof lower.

Yeah, the ocean is nowhere near here (there's always Lake Erie nearby and Niagara Falls is only four hours from me), but I also don't have to worry about earthquakes and even tornadoes are uncommon compared to other parts of the country. We do get a lot of rain and snow, though (more the past decade than before that, IMO) and fairly high humidity in the summer (can't have it all anywhere, it seems and if you can it costs a fortune).

I grew up in Michigan and know all about heat/humidity filled summers, ice cold (and below) winters, and all the bugs!!!

While we do get earthquakes, San Diego rarely has one big enough to cause any real damage. We did need to do some work to our foundation recently (raised foundation) so we went ahead and did the job that is supposed to withstand the biggest earthquake the faults in the area can dish out. at that point, everything in the house would be smashed upon the floor, but the house would at least be intact. (as long as the foundation work operates as intended).
My wife and I are lucky to have the jobs we do to be able to afford the single family home we have. Small by most accounts, but I never thought I'd be able to afford a house at all. I do have a small office with all of my records and most media formats of the past 40+ years. (no 8 track, DAT, or mini-disc, but most everything else) I have a lot of concert merch and band memorabilia, so much that I've resorted to hanging posters on my ceiling! My wife just rolls her eyes.

Vinyl, tape, digital... I don't care as long as I can listen to my music...

It seems if you press the right combination of buttons on the chest plate while performing the ceremony to open the Ark of the Covenant, it disables the "alarm" (aka WRATH OF GOD mode) where you only see "sand" (it flips over inside) and you get to the actual contents safely....

I've moved some Indiana Jones Staff of Ra medallions from the poster area to the bookshelf (first pic) since I have too many for that one shelf and this let me put the Lord of the Rings "ring of power" in the corner. I've also got some new Mayan Calendar Medallions. The one on the bookshelf with the Indy stuff is a silver necklace. The other two are the same medallion, but one facing forward and the other back and now sit facing each other on the surround #2 speakers as I've moved the Landron displays to the poster area since getting the "Marion" necklace for the "Raven Bar" version of the medallion, shown at the end.
