Ceiling color suggestions?

I'm going to paint the ceiling in my media room.

The plan is to make it like a night sky, with some small phosphoresce stars painted on for ambiance.

i think I want to stop short of black and go with as dark a blue as possible.

Any suggestions?

Print the linked photo on a good color printer on photo paper and take it to a good paint store that has a color matching system
Actually I would bet they can just use the image on your phone without printing it.. probably more accurate that way.. Zoom in on a spot you like..

Thats just pure brilliance. Simple. Elegant. Guess I could find some other ones, too.

Thanks for the great suggestion!

For anyone searching these forums later, I went with Sherwin Williams "Anchors Aweigh" in a flat finish.

When it was going on, I was nervous that it wasn't going to be dark enough. But 3 coats later, I was feeling pretty good about the choice.

My wife said "neat" when I showed her the NightSkyMurals photos. That's the first time she's ever said anything remotely positive about something like this. I was thinking my HT was going to have to keep the white ceiling since it's used for other purposes too, but maybe there's a chance.

She also said I could do whatever I wanted to the game room, so maybe she's not so keen.

Give me absolute safety, or give me death!
