"Was" is the key word here...she isn't aging well at all.

Healthy bit-rate, no DNR, no EE, and unlike Gremlins, no contrast boost ... Mine is arriving today....can't wait.

Edit: turns out there was indeed contrast boost to this (screenshots, not the movie), as mentioned by paku...

Rieper, I'm fairly sure there's something wrong with the way you've captured these screenshots. Comparing your shots in general (the outdoor shots with the grass for example) to both Xylon's and those of Blu-ray.com, there seems to be a significant increase in contrast (black crush) and possibly saturation. Blu-ray.com also has almost the exact same shot of the goblins, where it's pretty evident.

I guess this would at least partly explain the overly dark look of Gremlins as well.

I hope you're right because it would mean Gremlins doesn't suffer from crushed blacks.

I found the problem and I just posted new screencaps for Gremlins.

Please see the new results: https://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...8#post17286278

I will be updating this thread with new screencaps in the near future as well.

As it turns out, my nVidia Control Panel color settings was screwing up the screengrabs and producing black crush (totally crippling any shadow detail).

Everything is now fixed.

Thank you Paku for noticing and bringing it to my attention.
