It's been out of print for a while, yes. Rumor is that Warner is planning a 4K Ultra HD release that will have Atmos, but a release date hasn't been officially announced.

Given it's 2020, most 2015 releases have been long out of print. Your only options are either some obscure retailer who still has a copy who didn't blow it out years ago, or a used copy - either from a collector who knows how rare it is, or someone who's clearing out their collection. Or a scalper with a really long window of selling.

I'm ok with new or used just not ok with $195 for a Blu-Ray. I can buy 100 Laserdiscs for that much coin.

Sony VPL-VW285ES Projector / Denon AVR-X6500H Receiver / Aircom T10 Cooling Fan
Sony BDP-S790 3D/Blu-Ray / Sony UBP-X700 4K UHD
Pioneer DVL-909 Laserdisc / Lexicon LDD-1 Demodulator
Samsung DVD-VR375 DVD/VHS

Well, given it's out of print and still in high demand, that makes it expensive by definition.

I'd say your best bet would be to scour people clearing big collections of discs. You might have to buy it as part of a giant lot but at least you'll be spending $200 for a gigantic collection, and hopefully there will be more than just the one in there you want.

I couldn't find Gravity Diamond Luxe Edition anywhere for a reasonable price, one or two listings on ebay were really inflated in prices. At amazon, i was long seeing the message 'we dont know when or if this item will be back in stock', so i mailed them to check if there will be a re-issue of this disc and if they will have it back in stock, to which they answered they have no idea. Eventually i had to resort to the "other way" to get this disc. I downloaded it from...and used my pioneer blu ray rewriter in the htpc to burn it to a blank Verbatim BD R DL disc. Works great on my x700 4k blu ray player. If there is a re-issue of this diamond luxe atmos 1080p edition or better yet if they release a 4K version with the same intact atmos soundtrack at 'normal prices', I'll spend my money on it.

Question

I wonder why they stopped with the Atmos edition ???
Seems like being as popular as it is they would simply start-up production again.

Any thoughts guys ???

My guess is they are keeping it for the UHD 4K disc that will come.

I just finished my Living Room 5.1.4 Atmos upgrade to go along with my new LG C9 & Denon X3600H and heard that this is THE reference Atmos disk. So naturally, it's "out of print". I'll be buying the 4K version when it comes out, as it will no doubt have this sound mix in it.

Any other recommendations for an Atmos disk that will knock your socks off with overhead effects? So far I've been kind of underwhelmed...

If you want you socks knocked off with Atmos go and grab the new Terminator Dark Fate. Absolutely great Atmos with stuff swirling all around you. I also have Gravity Diamond Luxe Atmos and it's good but Terminator Dark Fate may just be the best I've ever heard.
