Gravity Diamond Lux Edition with Atmos

I know it's pretty hard to find and it's crazy expensive on eBay so I thought I'd pass this along. A fellow member in the receiver's forum found it on Amazon Canada. and a bunch of us have ordered and received it. I ordered mine last month for $16.00 + shipping and got it in about 7 days. The listing says it's the bilingual version but that just means the menu defaults to English and you can choose from about 20 different languages vs the non bilingual one that only has a few languages.

It's shipped and sold by amazon not a 3rd party seller https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you so much for this info!

I was puzzled why I couldn't find this disc anywhere for under $50.

What's the difference between this one and the standard retail version?

The standard Gravity Blu-ray’s audio is DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and the Gravity Diamond Lux Edition has Dolby Atmos. The Diamond Lux Edition with Atmos is hard to find so sites are charging around $50 or more so finding it for under $20 is a good deal if you have an Atmos system.

Yeah on the Amazon's US site it's $60 from 3rd party sellers gouging us on the price. On Amazon's Canadian site it's shipped and sold by Amazon so no price gouging.

To purchase from Amazon's Canadian site just click on the link in the first post of this thread. It's a link to Amazon's Canadian site, so just log into Amazon like you would for the US site because your US profile is carried over to the CA site automatically. Then just order like normal and it will come in about 7 days even though it says it takes a lot longer.

She probably got it at a good price up there. I can't figure out why it's so expensive for this BD in the US while in Canada it's priced like every other BD.

Easy, the retailers pulled a few too many into Canada. So it's on store shelves, real or virtual at regular prices.

In the US, it sold out and all that's leftover is what third party scalpers are selling it for.

Though to be honest, I never saw the disc at retail - I ordered mine from amazon.

I think you'll be surprised how fast it comes. Mine and other people's said 1-2 months as well and we got ours in about 10 days.

So what is the word regarding a 4K transfer with Atmos?

I want to purchase this, but if a 4K version is planned I will wait. Any ideas?

I watched Gravity Diamond Luxe Edition yesterday and I must tell you... it is not just a movie, it is an EXPERIENCE. This Dolby Atmos soundtrack can't be explained, it must be felt and heard. I've seen this movie before and I thought it was alright; nothing special to really recommend to anyone. But when I rewatched it with my Dolby Atmos setup and my recently added 2nd subwoofer... I don't think I can even put it into words other than to say, Dolby Atmos will be taking over theaters (it's in most of them now) as well as home theaters when people realize it's not a gimmick... it's the real deal!

Atmos is just on another level when done right like in Gravity. I run dual 15" subs and when combined with Atmos for a 7.2.4 setup Gravity puts you right in the middle as if you were really there.

I concur, it was the first time sound actually scared me. At the very opening as the intro music in Dolby Atmos increases in volume there is a pressure building up that felt as if the weight of my house was coming down onto me (I was sort of glad it stopped...).

There is nothing scary about the regular mix in comparison.

very first Atmos movie I watched in my home theater. super-impressive. Immediately I knew all the hard work and planning for Atmos was worth it.

About to do a major Atmos upgrade. Been planning it for years, while waiting for the perfect timbre matched/aimable in-ceiling speaker to come out. It's going to be costly, so good to hear you feel the upgrade was worth it.

I will be ordering the Gravity Diamond Ed bluray soon, as it sounds like it's the first Atmos movie I should watch.
