All Marvel Cinematic Universe films will be remastered in 4K

Those Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films that have yet to appear on UHD Blu-ray are currently being remastered in 4K resolution, the company confirmed in an interview with Collider.

Disney has released most of its recent Marvel films on UHD Blu-ray but several back catalog titles are still missing, including the Iron Man trilogy, Guardians of the Galaxy, two Thor tiles, Doctor Strange, and Ant-Man.

In an interview (see video below) with Captain Marvel producers Victoria Alonso and Jonathan Schwartz, it was confirmed that these titles are currently being remastered in 4K for home release.

- "We are going to remaster all of our films in 4K. We’re in the process of doing that, so it’s all happening."

Yes. There are a few titles that I didn't get on Blu-ray because I knew (hoped??) were coming on UHD. Thanos commands they be brought forth !

That's great news! Would love to have the first Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange in 4k for sure!

As soon as GotG2 came out in 4K, I stopped buying ALL 1080p Marvel Blu-rays. I'm glad I waited!

Also, the Iron Man trilogy was released in Germany like 6 months ago and most reviews I've read are abysmal. Hopefully they give those movies proper treatment for the US release.

All indications are those were upconverts created by the local distributor. Disney had nothing to do with them.
