Physical media guy all the way here, and I'll never change my mind re: my preference for Disks over streaming. I've streamed off & on since 2012, and have, overall, been disappointed with the stream's PQ, Internet speed, drop-off issues, etc.

Conversely, physical media is better because:

1) The Disk PQ (especially Blu's) will almost always look better than any given stream.

2) You don't need a potentially unreliable Internet connection to watch physical media.

3) Physical media will always be there (if you own it), unlike streams - which may come & go from the various platforms that show them.

Now, disk rot re: physical media is something else - and that belongs in another thread...

I've never had too much of an issue with disc rot over thousands of discs I own. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but when it has happened I've just bought a new copy - and by that time so cheap (new or used). In the last 9 months I've watched over 600 movies, plus done processing on another thousand, and I've hit 4. The only real risk I've had is the few hard to get ones (like the Soderbergh Solaris)
