Um, excuse me, but my XA2 plays Dolby TrueHD which IS lossless.

From the Dolby website....

Dolby TrueHD
"Dolby TrueHD is the next-generation lossless technology developed for high-definition disc-based media. This advanced technology provides an unprecedented audio experiencebit-for-bit identical to the highest-resolution studio masters"

So, please stop with the lying.

You keep saying silly things like this which undermine credibility.

I wonder what happened to the thread where you told everyone they were ridiculous for believing that Samsung would release a Universal Player - about 15 minutes before they issued a pres release for the UP5000?

Bluray sales surged after the launch of the PS3, sure. I predicted that it would also fall away afterward - which was only hidden for a few weeks by the "50% off retail" sale that ran in March.

However, HD DVD sales have surged hugely now that more releases are coming again, and Bluray sales have lost their "oomph".

Take a look here for the last 45 days. The Top Ten account for the biggest share of the volume, and this graph say it all:

And Warner is the studio most willing to accept an ongoing format war and least willing to take advantage of features which all players can't support. They are hardly representative of Disney, Fox, and Sony.

Sorry, I left out the word "many" or "most", referring to the fact that Xbox 360 add-on owners, who make up the majority of HD DVD viewers, can't get lossless. I've edited the post.

No, this graph shows relative rankings for one retailer. The top-selling Blu-ray title could be selling 10x the top-selling HD DVD title and this graph wouldn't necessarily reflect it, since it is dependent on relative sales for standard DVD, plus averaging the top-ten can totally obfuscate sales data. The Videoscan numbers are far more indicative of absolute sales across all retailers, and Blu-ray continues to lead HD DVD by greater than a 4:1 margin. That tells it all.

The last two weeks of data have been under 2:1 with this last week around 1.66:1. Why are you trying to spread manure in the HD DVD area. There are plenty of farmers in the Blu area - kindly head on back, stranger.

Yes Talk, head back to the BD side. These poor folks here can't have you throwing reality in their faces. Don't mess with the fantasy.

Talk since your in the HD DVD section but not here for HD DVD why don't you apologize to Robert for the little slight against him concerning the release of the Samsung Duo HD player. Your credibility armour is starting to develope a few chinks. Maybe you should use Paidgeek as a role model of how a insider should behave; Informative and respectful to those who share a love for HD regardless of format.
