Denons Heos LINK HS2 - displaying Album art during playback

Hi all,

I use Denon Heos Link HS2 to play wav files ripped from my CDs. All files have filled ID3v2.3 TAG info, including front cover image. During playback Heos app uses TAGs to display album and artist info but image does not work. It displays only grey placeholder image with Heos logo. I play files from USB pendrive. I Googled quite a bit for it and checked manual but no luck. Did anyone have a similar problem and solved it by a chance?

WAV (Waveform Audio File Format). WAV is a music file format capable of storing Linear PCM audio (the digital encoding format used on compact discs) in completely uncompressed form. Ripping a CD and storing it as an uncompressed WAV results in “bit perfect” storage; the ripped music file is identical to the original CD data package. WAV files can also store high-resolution music files at greater bit depths and sampling rates than CD’s 16-bit/44.1kHz resolution. Uncompressed WAV files can be ripped and played back in iTunes and are very high quality. However, they do take up more hard drive storage space then AAC, MP3, or Apple Lossless. WAV files have one notable limitation- they do not support attached metadata tagging. Things like album art, song titles and other convenience features that enhance music library management and playback will be lost in subsequent generations (backups).

How would you explain above screenshot then? Artist and Album name is read from IDTag. Also, Album Art works fine on my Windows PC and MacBook.

Some media players keep album art as a separate file and have their own "database" to associate song files with cover art files.

Hi again.

I did some testing and it looks like ID3 tags in fact do not work well with wav files. I managed to make them work only on Windows PCs. They did not work on Android and iOS devices. I decided to convert my music to flack files. They work all fine on all devices.

Also, I would like to post my extremely negative feedback on Denon Customer Service. Before figuring it on my own, I have sent a support ticket describing this issue. UK support after 3 days of waiting replied me that I should contact polish Denon support. Lol... I though that English is used in UK and software tends to work the same no matter location (unless written so on purpose). They provided me email of polish support... in jpg attachment so I was unable to copy-paste it. So helpful! Anyway, I have filled email address manually, created new ticked in polish and... nothing. I sent it 10 days ago and no response. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Utterly useless! I will definitely pick Yamaha MusicCast next time.
