Internal DAC vs. Amp DAC?

Just purchased an Integra CDC-3.4 CD changer to replace my old Sony that died. The manual says, "The digital outputs offer the best audio quality, so if your digital recorder or amp has a digital input you should use it." My amp is a Yamaha RX-V1300 that's quite old, but still works well, and it DOES have digital inputs. QUESTION: Should I use the analog output from the Integra (it uses a Wolfson 192kHz/24-Bit DAC) with my Monster cables, or should I use the Integra's optical output or coax digital output? Or does it really matter? Thanks for any advice.

Only the cost of a cable to try both

Good point, can easily try that and will do. Just curious if there's any technical explanation for why Integra (Onkyo) thinks the DAC built into an external amp may be better than the one built into the player.
