Pioneer AVH-W4400/4500 (11dBf) vs Kenwood DDx9705 (9dBf) - which has better HD Radio?

Hi - I'm choosing between these (the 2 most popular head units for wireless Carplay and Android Auto), and both have HD Radio, which I listen to all the time. I like the Pioneer better on general features (and reliability, according to my shop), but it quotes 11dBf Usable sensitiviity vs 9dBf on the Kenwood. I live in the suburbs outside boston (about 20-25 mi from antennas) - Is this a big difference - has anyone tried these units? Am I making a mistake with the Pioneer?

Thanks!
/j

Pioneer - loving it. It's possible the HD reception in the Kenwood -might- be better (or not, the pioneer seems to perform in the field about the same as my old Jensen, which was spec'd at 8.5dBf) but I came to discover that overall it was a more reliable, higher quality unit.

Pioneer AVH-W4400/4500 (11dBf) vs Kenwood DDx9705 (9dBf) Car Tuner specs are for 30 dB SNR...which NO-ONE would want presented to their ears for very long. What you want to compare is Sensitivity at MUCH Higher SNR's. Unfortunately only Kenwood has an additional spec point: 10.2 dBf for 46 dB SNR [which is Outstanding]....and Pioneer apparently doesn't WANT you to know.

For more info re FM Sensitivity Specs, see my fol. post:

I struggle just a touch to think that Pioneer and Sony _want_ us to _not_ know. It seems simpler and more likely that they know their customers don't look or care, don't you think?

It's unfortunate that we have great data on radio tuners that are >50 years old, decent to good data on tuners that are >~35 years old, and zip on anything sold in the last decade. Are the hobbyists who measure(d) the old tuners just no longer hobbyists?
