Usually 6-8 business days seems normal to me. The border can be a hang up though. Let me know if you dont have them on Monday. That would be longer than normal.

If they fit in the woofer cut out, they could be shipped with the baffles as an option. Tux....get me 500pcs pronto!

I think this is a good idea.
@tuxedocivic , If you decide to make one for the Volt6's I'd be in for 4. Thanks

If I had a baffle I would happily do that. They'd be cheap too cause the area of a 6" is so small.

You'll want to find a use for the scraps. Seems a shame to have so much area go unused. Need coasters? (Print your logo on them?)

Just use a smaller bit and start cutting some for the 6" models, then step out 1" and cut them for the 8", then 10", then 12", then the 15".....like a bulls-eye. You wouldn't be throwing much material away.

If I measure all four baffles I have to get the ring inside and outside dimensions, would that work?

Hey Ryan got mine today and they don't seem to fit the bamboo cutouts, I put the ring over the surround before I peeled it off and it seemed like it would be OK. I took the surround off of one woofer and tried to put the ring in and it's too small. Correct me if I'm wrong, the outside of the ring should lay flat against the baffle all around the woofer right. I can almost fit the ring inside the cutout with the woofer installed. I can get half of the ring to lay nice and flat on the outside against the baffle and the other half is inside the cutout. In other words I can almost get the whole ring inside the cutout, so to me that means it's too small.

What I should have done prior to ripping out the surround material was put the ring with the screw notches facing out (backwards) and lay it against the woofer and cutout, that's when I noticed it was too small as it laid perfectly on the woofer and surround with no extra diameter to fit over the woofer cutout. Oh well I'm going to try and glue the surround back on, a lot of the sticky back paper stayed on when I carefully used almost the same tool you had to remove it.

If anybody's interested in these for the regular 1099s I'll give you a good deal.

EDIT: The bamboo Volt 8s have the same problem with the rings fitting, glad I didn't rip one of the surrounds off of them. I guess I should take one of the drivers out just to be 100% positive that they're too small, I don't think it's necessary but I'll do it.

Jeff, slow down. They should snap in. Nothing should lay flat against the baffle. If anything it sounds like the ring is to big. The fitment is extremely precise. So if by change they're like 0.5mm to big they'll be quick tight to get it. They almost have to squish to fit inside the cut out.

That could possibly work but it'll take some trial and error Im sure. I could send a few and see if they fit then whip off more.

That's what I was unsure of if they were supposed to fit into the hole, if that's the case they are just a bit too big, I tried from every angle to get them to fit in there and they wanted to be just a tad too big, I got almost 3/4s of the ring in and then the other side popped out. They would really look good if I good get them to fit, nice finished look. Any suggestions to make them fit, I almost pushed the woofer cone in trying to make it fit. I wish I knew how to trim that extra .5-1mm to make them fit. I tried for at least a half a hour and going to wait till morning and try again. I don't think it's going to work Ryan but I'll try again.

Would taking the driver out make a difference to see if they are too big?

You have me worried. You weren't able to sort of spring it into place? These trim rings aee such a pain. Theyre to precise. Is there any finish in the cut out that needs to be sanded away? I wonder if the bamboo is tighter or something. I haven't heard how the fit is for the other guys I sent out. Its almost like the Pure trim rings would have fit better.

Dont rush into anything. Im sure we can come up with a solution.

Ryan I tried everything, here's some pics with the driver out and you can see how big they are for the bamboo, I can't even get them in at all even without the driver installed. What do you think?

This one you can really see how that it's big, I can get the top, bottom and right side in and the left is what's left over, I'd have to break them to fit. HELP......

Trim rings bamboo

These might put the too big size into perspective....................

SIDE VIEW:

TOP:

Side view pulled up a bit to give you a better look, these are fairly pliable but no way I could get these into the bamboo cutouts, the ring went right back to it's original shape when I removed it from this photo.

OK awaiting instructions Ryan, thanks.........
