Has anyone used Pro Drivers like the JBL 2241H on this type of enclosure?

Curious if they'll perform well...

The disappearance seems to coincide with GSG audio design going live... https://shop.gsgad.com/

Plenty of pics, all the specs, sizes, panels etc...
The only thing I see missing was his video building one, but everything is here.

Why waste $ on more cheap stuff, it's like challenging a dragon with a pocket knife.

hey guys, the pics and the vids in the o.p. were not mine and have been gone for some time now. they were created and posted by donny (chalugadp) from tapatalk. apparently tapatalk wiped them out many months back. all the martysub info that i've ever posted is still up and will continue to remain up.

I was just going to post this. The pics and vids have been gone for at least 6 weeks since I started researching this stuff. And that they were posted by someone else.

they have been gone for a lot longer than that.

google images appears to have preserved most of them. this is what i was able to find.

i couldn't find the johnny picture. this is one that i posted in another thread that is still up.

if someone has the original, shoot me a pm so we can have them all in one spot.

AWESOME. Thank you. I just spoke with Kevin on the phone about something else. Didn't realize you were partners. Good luck!!!

I ended up building a standard marty cube with a little more WAF. I won't have to move out now.

Thanks for that mate and thank you also @LTD02 .
My room is only 1600cu.ft so I'll be going Mini's for that under 20hz output (otherwise sealed and lean right on them with EQ like I did with my 4x12's) as the room has no gain down there!

LTD02 thank you for reposting those build sheets. I was starting to second guess myself today! My mind is at ease a bit. Dry fit, and ready to hopefully start gluing up tomorrow if i have time.

I should have added emoticons. Just my way of plugging GSG Audio Design (and stirring the pot ).

Is asking a question about the GSG mini's here allowed?

I suppose that it does not need to be them specifically, is the Mini Marty the right box for SI HTS-18MKII's even though it is about 1 cu ft bigger than Stereo Integrity recommends?

4 of those is a perfect shipping quantity since I have 4 18's!

as far as martysubs generally, that driver should work fine in a mini or a full.

do you have the thiele small parameters? i'm not sure if the specs that i have are for the mark i or mark ii and it appears the si website is up to mark iv.

I am pretty sure that the Data-Bass site is the mkI but from what I have been told the MKII is very similar. I will try to contact SI and see if they are available.

I just spoke with Kevings and the mini's should work out well. Sent him an email as well about some other thoughts. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks LTD02 and Kevings!

John wouldn't rip those out, he knows some can't afford to buy stuff, that's one of the reasons why we build.
He's always been about DIY, and he still is, but now he has kits.

I've joined the cult and built my first MiniMarty, thanks to all of you guys. Here's my first attempt at using REW to make some corrections, but I admittedly don't really know what I'm doing. How does this look?

Adjust your delay, phase, and/or crossover to improve that null at 87 Hz.

Thanks for the comparison. Is there a version of this that compares the full Marty performance to these other sizes?

Thanks for that. It looks like the full Marty would provide more in both down low as well as some nice midbass. Do you know if that midbass gain is due to the use of the UXL driver compared to the ultimax in the smaller boxes, or does the ultimax measure similarly in a full Marty?

Hi everyone. So I've been slowly gluing my cabinet together the past few days. Looking at other peoples builds and theaters at the same time as usual. Searching google to try and familiarize myself more and more with things. I have probably read through this thread once fully in the past 4 months, and through the beginning many times. (Most of the things i read though I find i forget right away xD). But anyways, I happened to have came across another cut sheet identical to the one @LTD02 reposted. But the back port length is shorter than the one posted. I think it may have been for a 15hz box? Instead of 17hz? Maybe an older version? I don't know much about port lengths. I was hoping on just following the tried and true blueprints seeing this is my first build(s) learning as i go. But now I'm kinda scratching my head and at a stand still until i figure it out. I'm just wondering if anyone knew the difference between 6" in port length within the exact same cabinet. Will it affect anything dramatically if the port size is 6" too long (maybe not), or should i continue on? I am at a point where i can still backtrack and cut the port down if needed with not too much hassle. But i am at THAT exact point. And at a stand still till i figure it out. I'm asking because the image link on google directs me to an avs thread from 2014 where they are discussing the mini marty. The poster was asking about a 17hz horizontal box instead of a 15hz box. But cant tell which is which cause the cabinets are the exact same dimensions in the images I've found but the pictures are no longer there in the threads to try and compare. And both links on the thread directs back to the start of this thread. Which again the pictures have mostly been removed.

Maybe I am over thinking it. I am one to second guess myself a lot and worry. I have tried googling for the past couple days here n there. But i cant come up with a definite answer. Which is why I am posting in the Marty thread. I have also been trying to use winisd, but that still eludes me as well. I have ran through 3 tutorials and i still just don't understand it. If anyone could pitch in their two cents to help me out that'd be appreciated. I'm just looking for a quick answer to continue on. In case someone else runs into the same problem. Maybe someone just knows off the top of their head. I have posted both cut sheets here. The original one I have been following (that has also just been reposted by @LTD02 ), and the one i have recently found with the shorter back port length in google images. If i cant figure it out, or find an answer i will just continue building and hope for the best. But for now ill continue trying to search and find an answer.

For additional clarification i have been building the Mini Marty, with the Dayton UM 18-22 18" Driver. Which will be powered by the Inuke Nu6000dsp. I have two drivers i plan on using. But i figured i would build one cabinet at a time to see how it goes and don't overburden myself. This has been pretty fun so far. But like i said I am at a stand still now. Thanks in advance.

just based on some quick modeling in winISD a difference in 6" is probably a tune difference of 1hz, with the longer one being the lower tuning. the main page says a minimarty is tuned for 18hz, so the longer one might be for 17hz.

DWG / CNC Files for the Mini Marty?

I finally pulled the trigger today and bought the UM18 driver using the Black Friday special - super excited about my build (to be!).

I was able to find the jpg cutlist for the mini marty that I'm planning to build, but wasn't able to find DWG/CNC compatible cut list files (if they exist?). Before I try creating them myself, wanted to check if anyone has already created these and could share? I can take those to the local CNC shop and hopefully get the cuts done quicker than doing them myself..

Exciting times ahead!

Ok, thank you. So i should be okay then to continue. From what i understand, I don't think I will have to change it. I don't believe ill be trying to change the highpass on the inuke below 20hz. And if its just a tune and not hurting the driver i think ill just leave it as is. Unless someone says otherwise. Gotta get some paint today to paint the port rails before i glue up the bottom and back. Exciting!

So, Black Friday got me and I picked up two UL18's on sale to go in my MicroTheater. My original plan was for two microCubes, but things just got bigger as I couldn't resist the low price. Which brings me here. I really want something akin to the MiniMarty. Unfortunately, it's just too big for the room in its original shape. This is where I could use some ( a lot) of help. I'm still learning WinISD so I figured I would ask here. My plan was to lay the subs on their sides under the PJ screen. Unfortunately, that only gives me an absolute maximum of 21" height, 20" preferred. Depth isn't as much of an issue, but I really don't want to go too much deeper than 2'. For width, well, I have ~10' (5' each sub) to play with.

Given those limitations, is this something that is feasible or am I SOL? If feasible, what would the dimensions be for the box as well as the ports? My plan B is going the route of 2 MiniCubes OR sealed 4CuF flat-packs; placed up front or opposite corners front and back.

Attached below is the rough layout of the room.

~cheers
