Nice, put some legs on those and they would make some sweet MCM endtables

Thanks.

I want to do something similar to this:

Original thread here: In Cabinet Subs Build

I have to design it yet, and guarantee it would be able to accommodate current gear and future exchanges, as well as a future bigger center speaker.

Thanks, i wanted to hide the drivers, and the response is actually a bit better with the driver facing the wall, so it's a win win situation.

Very cool. You mentioned its DO, so is that acoustic fabric on the door then with the woofer hiding behind it? Also, any details on the woofer frame trim ring?

Yes it's a faux grill.

The photos make the trim ring look like the don't fit well, but they're cnc tight. There's some discussion on trim rings I've been doing here: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/401-di...l#post42317585

I mention there that I could batch a bunch and sell them if there's interst. There's a photo on them on the cinema max at that link as well.

Thanks for the comoliments.

No worries man. Nobody cares what the crappy coffee table looks like (I have one too) if you have a kickass home theater system. Besides, crappy coffee tables are perfect for kicking your feet up...

I made this "soundbar" a little while ago by shoving three volt 6s in a single enclosure, internally separated from each other. It has a zebrawood baffle and sides with a padauk veneer on the rest of the enclosure. I made it specifically for my wife as she loves zebrawood. I'm fond of it too

Update on mine. Built 2 end tables ported rear firing 3.2 cuft tuned 20hz sundown sa12 with inuke 3000 2 ohm per channel.

So I have 2 um 18's and 2 sa12's in living room. The 12's helped by smoothing the response across all sitting areas.

I really like this. Did you happen to post a build thread? I've been considering building my own center channel and would definitely consider this design. How do you like the way it sounds?

Thanks man! Here's the build thread:

https://www.avsforum.com/showthread.php?t=1714226

I really like the way it sounds... Never sounds strained, dialog is very clear despite having it so close to the mantle and I don't feel like it's much of a compromise compared to a properly separated lcr. I definitely recommend this approach if the form factor appeals to you or your significant other. It was fun working with the more exotic hardwoods too...although they weren't particularly easy to work with, especially the zebrawood.

My first build and the first audio component my wife likes (18" side table sub). It was actually this WAF thread that inspired me to build it. When I saw the thread, I said to myself "one day I'm going to build one of those". It took me a few years to find the time to actually do it, but very happy with the results and I'm thankful to everyone who provided the inspiration and examples to build upon.

I used the Parts Express sealed 18" box as a foundation, finished the MDF with cherry veneer, and then built the legs/top/framing around it. I did create a thread for it, but as a newbie, it was much more of a "desperate plea for help" than a "build" thread -> https://www.avsforum.com/forum/155-d...table-sub.html
