Best Option for 20hz to 80hz

Budget is around $1000 for 1 sub built plus the amp. I'm looking for the most output from 20hz to either a 60hz or 80hz crossover as possible. Was thinking either ported or a horn, but not sure what would work best. Size is not an issue, as long as it can fit through a 26" wide doorway. Room size is somewhere from 2000 to 2500 cu. ft. What would be the best design to accomplish this?
