What else could be causing this hum?

I had been using an RCA-XLR cable to a NU3000DSP without issue, but atfter moving some equipment I needed a longer cable and switched to an RCA-1/4" TRS adapter which introduced a loud buzzing. Things I have tried:

5 different outlets in different rooms with and without cheater plug
Running coax cable through power conditioner and various EMI isolators
Isolating power and speaker cables
Connecting only amp and sub to the receiver
I did mod the amp with a 140mm fan. I thought perhaps the fan motor could be interfering, but removing it changed nothing.

Any suggestions on what else it could be?

just out of curiosity, do you get the loud buzzing when the cable is plugged into the inuke but NOT to anything else?

have you gone through the "disconnect all gear and reattach one piece at a time" procedure to identify the possible source of the noise?

i hate to say "just buy an isolation transformer" even though that will fix the problem, as you may not have to spend the money.

this one is about half as much and probably just fine for sub duty:

Thank you for the help and suggestions. I will probably just get the Art DTI and be done with it. Do you know if it rolls off early like the old cleanboxes?

I'm not familiar with the old cleanbox rolloff. several of the direct boxes are only spec'd to 30 or 50hz though. the art dti is spec'd to 10hz +/-0.5db @4dbu.

I use something similar to this pic. It's cheap and has worked well for over a year with my I Nuke amp and unbalanced connections.

Get a longer RCA cable and go back to the original RCA-XLR adaptor cable

Or a XLR male to XLR female that's long enough to use the original adapter cable.
