Dayton Audio HO15 Build

Building a box for my buddy. I've had this HO15 sitting around the house for about a year now. It is around 6.4 CUFT, tuning came to around 19.5 HZ. It will be powered by a BASH 300.

He just wanted an upgrade from the 10 inch commercial sub that he has. I had this Dayton in a 6 CUFT box, tuned to about 20 HZ for a little bit and it worked pretty good.

I had 2 Klipsch Sub 10's , REW showed they died at about 37 HZ, no matter what,
i didn't have XT32 yet

so I've build a few "real" subs, 6 for myself in about 2 years,

ROCK ON!

Same thing here, had this 15 HO powred by a Yung 300. When I finaly got a mike and REW, the sub was cutting out around 32 HZ.

Finally done! Sub sounds pretty good. I'll get some REW sweeps done maybe this weekend.

Curious how this works out, that's not a whole lot of amp for that driver.

All of the Yung SD models have a built-in filter that is set at 30 Hz.

Agree. I run the Yung 500wpc with bass boost for the sealed enclosure and it's a little light for the 15" HO, which can take 800 rms.

It still sounds pretty good.

It ought to. You're not even down 3db from max power!

Yeah, but with the enclosure size, I am close to hitting xmax with 300 watts, this according to WinISD.

At what frequency? Are you including the BASH's high pass filter in your model? Are you assuming stock filter settings or are you adjusting it?

The default HPF on the BASH 300 is 17.7 HZ with 1 dB of boost from 25-30 Hz. That is the filter settings I am using. WinISD is saying that at 14.5 HZ, xmax is 11 mm peak.
