Room Size Quick Question

What's up all..

Just a quick question to your opinions of room sizes..

In terms of Cubic or Square feet, ( however you measure,) what size is a Small room, Medium room, Large room or even Extra large room?

Is there a general standard number for each?? I remember reading on one of these websites a long time ago about room sizes, but cant seem to find it.

Thanks in advance....

If you KRANK it.. They will Listen..

My room is a little over 1450ft^3 and I figure its on the smaller side of things...
Not sure if that helps or not....

I have heard some different rules of thumb, but the most common ones seem to treat rooms up to about 3000^3 (cubic feet), or perhaps a little less, as Small, with Medium going up to about 4500^3, or so, and Large, anything over that. Of course some HT's or mixed-use rooms, go over 10,000^3, so any of these standards will depend somewhat on your perspective.

Regards,
Mike

I would go a little smaller, say 2000ft3 as small, 2000 to 3500 as medium, and anything upwards as large. A 20 by 20 by 8 ft two car garage is 3200ft3, IMO most would consider that a decent sized room. YMMV

True... It would be a decent sized room. See.. My room is roughly 18 x 22 x 7.5 and It's a nice size to me. lol But for speaker purposes, I was wondering what was large, medium and small. It's probably just relative. lol Just looking for a baseline, so I can tell others I know and sound like a genius. You guys have taught me a lot. AVS is awesome.

Less than 1500 cu ft. is small. A room 1500-3000 cu ft. is medium. A large room is 3000 + cu ft. Extremely large room is greater than 5000 cu ft. http://www.audioholics.com/loudspeak...ofer-room-size
