Sub Spacing and Alignment

I realize my Google capabilities have probably failed me and this answer is easily found somewhere but I can't seem to find it.

So, assume I have three subs with an outside frame diameter of 260 mm (10.25 in) each. Also assume I want to mount them on a face plate that is 36 inches by 24 inches.

When I am mounting them in a straight line, is there a minimum recommended spacing between them? Is half an inch enough space between them?

Second related question. Is there a problem mounting them in other configurations than a straight line? Can I mount them in a triangle shape?

Trying really hard to understand basic principles of speaker building . . . . failing miserably.

Any way you can fit them will work fine for sub frequencies. Be careful putting them very close together if you will have internal bracing that might be effected.
