Just a passing thought...

I don't frequent these waters as much as I did three, four, or ten years ago, but it is funny to see the same old topics go round and round.

I was just checking out a new(ish) thread about the worth of infrasonic playback. It was an old folks get together kgVet, D_S, avholic, basthz, MK, and scotS were all there. Heck, SteveCallas even showed up. We just need the cat from Florida (his handle escapes me right now... ) and then bosso to show up with a spectragraph chart and we will be all set!

It is interesting to see the same issues still being hashed out by the same groups.

Ricci, lilmike, LTD, and everyone else who may remember me... I hope you are all doing well.

Hey soho54! Hope all is well.

Yeah, what comes around has gone around...seems that we're always hashing through the same stuff.

Penngray??

I got my 152i Horns from him when that was the thing. But ya things always seem to come around full circle and get debated over and over.

I joined AVS 8 years ago and was on HT Shack a while before that. It's so true that all the same stuff is still hashed out regularly. I also find it funny watching different subwoofer alignments become the most popular and then change again. Right now, it seems the big thing is using 18 and 21 inch pro drivers in ported boxes as home theater subs; I don't remember that one ever being a trend.

I was just thinking the other day about how strong this ported "resurgence" has been. The new spin this time I guess is the combination of pro drivers with the availability of better EQ and measurement software, and the change of focus from low tuning to midbass impact.

I'm not saying it's bad at all, and I certainly won't argue with the results posted by some of the great designers and builders in here. I just thought it was interesting to see. I'm in the middle of building my first sealed subs, and I feel like I'm the odd man out.

Some of those threads are so painful to read/re-read.

Over the years you can tell some folks have learned leaps and bounds as they've gained more hands-on experience, but some others keeping repeating the same old stuff year after year after year.

Good to see you around Soho54.

Maybe like me you mostly lurk these days? I read pretty regularly but don't post like I used to. I dont really have the energy or time for the long winded debates anymore. Still fun to read sometimes. It is funny how the pit gets stirred around and round with a few new wrinkles here and there.
