I am trying one more design and then a bigger array of the alpha 4s and compare which is best to me, pics of the designs coming side by side.

Looks like fun MK. How well do the larger driver versions sound?

I would seem like the tweeters wouldnt want to get XO that low. Just curious is all.

And What AVR are you running?

My AVR only has 90watts x 5 output and no preamp outs at all. (Except for the sub) SO I looked at maybe a line converter instead of a new AVR. Just cant afford a new one right now. And I thought you did this in the past but could be wrong.

They range from 94-100 dB sensitive. The big one was built like that to extend lower. The smaller drivers are full range so I cross higher but the 10s are crossing over at 2k. So far they handle reference with ease. So far the best sound is from the 10s IMHO. I never built anything on my own before this and I started with the wall and panels. They are all only 5 inches deep.

I like the look of the 4 bass driver version next to the TLAH. AND yet I am still using my original SLA's I built 8 years ago from Bill. I am upgrading soon but they have been very fun on little to no money.

Yes those are my upgraded SLAs. Eminence drivers and peerless tweets(3/4 soft domes). I was going to just have every speaker with those but then got crazy. I have 4 of them and 4 TLAHs as well. I built 17 speakers. Whatever I prefer best I will match all.

When do we get the details? Those are pretty sweet looking. 5" deep is pretty appealing for on-wall applications.

The big center is really heavy. I am using a single panel clips for the Surrounds though as they are light. I want to mount the big center on my wall so no need for the stands or I could just build the speaker with the stand connected already. The center needs to clear space for the port. I am not using any Eq or dsp and just impedance and sensitivity matching. The crossover is the off the shelf Dayton running 4 ohms. I am shocked on how well these sound. The dual 8s are faital pro and the one dual 10 are eminence beta 8 and the new one are the Dayton pro 10s. They sound very similar and cheaper! Less sensitivity but allowed me to try a more robust tweeter in the Vifa dual ring radiator soft done and they are my favorite HF devices I have heard. I never finished the cabinets but I want to use black stain or paint. That center is oak, some are MDF, birch, and Luan plywood. The Luan is 11 layers(3/4) and I like it. The oak is nice as well.

Are those using 10's in that center speaker? And are these just using Hpass/Lpass for the Xo?

Yes, dual 10s and 2 way high pass/low pass 4 ohm. I will get measurements up soon. The little Dayton tweets are very nice as well.

I have not run XT 32 yet to see how low they set them but all the others were 110hz. I built the bigger center to get lower and compare. I ultimately measure myself and decide.

They are really something. I am a big believer in higher end drivers now, the bass from these two is very impressive compared to my other systems. My friends can’t believe I only have two subs now. Two more of these babies and my bass will be better and more powerful than anything I ever owned! Two is close.

I can fit two more in my wall with the same port. My tune was 10hz on sim and ended up being around 7hz.

I beefed up my wall and my bass has never sound better. They are the XXX 18 with the RE label, not XXX. I think they are the under hung version and not split gap. The tune looks closer to 6hz in room. My 4.4 hz is the same as the mid bass!

Mine have the RE label, not the XXX. I am not sure if they are different. @Ricci , maybe he can chime in, I bought mine from him. Best sub purchase to date! They don’t do well in small sealed cabs as tested on DB. Think 30-50 cubes if porting down low. This setup makes sweet bass, better than anything I have owned as tactile effects go.

Straight from DB.

Not sure if they have reverted back to using the XXX logo

Yes, if you look at my pics they have the RE logos but all the specs from that add is the same. They are awesome and sound better than my previous stuff. I might have had too many drivers messing up the response as this is flat all the way to 120hz without EQ and it sounds great. I loved all my subs before but I have to say these are the first subs to sound different, very similar to the DTS-10s, but deeper!

How have you arranged the driver's on your wall? Are they 25% distance from the room corners? Like a sba?

So I am selling all my speakers to match my new center. I have 16 of them, 4 TLAH, 4 SLA upgraded, 4 SLA atmos, 3 dual 8s, and a dual 10 version. Cheap! They are unfinished with no sanding or paint.
