Also shows that the two listings have a list price of $2199 and $1999. If they didnt weigh so much I would have bout a pair of these years ago.

If the Wally world is the same driver that is crazy. Arrggh

The drivers are great but the low tuned enclosure really lets them shine. The bass is tight and powerful. My new speaker is great too!

Same seller on Amazon.

I don't know the difference between these and the ones that are almost $1k each, but the specs are the same.

I just went to the re website and mine looks exactly like the XXX 18 there, except mine is badged RE on the cone. They must have changed it back.

Looks like the cone went from (split/underhung) XXX > RE > (small logo in bottom left corner)XXX. But have called this the v2 version.

Either way, is still curious how someone is selling these new, shipped for less than $600
It's actually tempting....

Dual 10s and those amazing dual ring radiators from vifa. They sound really nice and natural. If I wanted to I could double up the drivers and have a monster that could play as loud as my giant JBL speakers but no need. These sound much better for music and once installed testing the theater front stage. I ran out of screws LOL last night.

Nothing like a good soft dome. My broinlaw has a crazy dedicated theater and he went that route except 4 SD’s and 4x6.5’s. I think there all Vifas. Very nice sound and they get loud.

Yes, you need more than one for theater. These sound very nice and the Dayton 10 pro Sounds better than the eminence beta 10 IMHO. Less sensitive though but these match up well.

The problem is the wire connections are too far away for their cut out so it never fits. I have to make notches to fit then and then it is hard to reach them from the back side. I am going to rear mount them on my left front.

Almost seems too good to be true.

Maybe they are double x's and not triples and the tards at walmart listed them wrong online.
That's the only thing I could think of...

And absolutely, high-end drivers sound better than low-end ones. hehe!
The SAB-24 I bought makes even my LMS-18 look like a toy, and the LMS-18 is no toy.
The LMS-18 is about 90lbs and the SAB-24 is over 150lbs, it's got more excursion than the LMS (80mm's vs 106mm's).
18x80 vs 24x106, that's a lot more displacement... almost double!

It doesn't pinch fingers, it cuts them off!

If doublesmm uploaded it on his channel, he would be so enthusiastic that he'd have a heart attack live on-air. He'd have to throw his HO-12's and UM-10 in the garbage, as they'd just be inaudible against it anyway!

and the SAB-24's are only $254 a piece!
[it's really the shipping and the 50 MOQ that is the killer part... ]

I would have 4 already if the shipping was not more than two subs. I am not sure if a 24 would fit between my wall joists but I would not mind trying some day. How big is the cut out and what do you guys use to cut 24 inch circles. My jasper jig does not go that big.

For the longest time I though bass was bass, and to a point it is, however I have always used lower end multiple 18s so I can get a smooth response and high spl. The sound from these XXX are different, even the guys that have listened and help build all my other systems notice it. Very nice sounding and being in my little room the mid bass is fantastic! I am not sure if it is the better made port, beefed up wall, or the drivers but the sound is very tight compared to before. My responses were always similar. I really do like the ported effect around tune, very tactile and violent.

They use SI baskets. The dimensions can be found there.

I've always cut my holes free-hand. I sometimes like doing things the hard way, probably cause my aspie autism. hehe!
That's why they aren't perfect circles if you look closely. But the end result is that I can make it any size or shape I want. You just gotta learn how to hold a router solidly and skillfully or it will run away and ruin the whole panel/box.
I free-handed all my SEOS cutouts too, I ain't got no CNC.

1 vs 1 is obvious, but I really don't understand how less could be more...
Do you have SPL and THD plots of both before and after?
Maybe you are hearing less distortion, thermal compression, transient response, dynamics, and air leakage around the drivers???
The charts shouldn't lie... if you are hearing a big improvement, it should be measurable.

It could just be all in your head... you've convinced yourself it sounds better, because they cost more and have better specs maybe...
Humans hear loudness as superior. Maybe they are just louder or more dynamic. It should be measurable!

MK, did you post the response of your XXX's somewhere, I haven't found it. Did it end up pretty similar to your HT's? The XXX's seem pretty serious. I got to see one in action over at Beastaudio's GTG when Popalock got one humping with 5Hz:

Subs

Here it is. I really beefed up my wall and braced it more so it is probably why my midbass is good. I am amp limited and want to get a CV 5000 or clone or something else. My IPR2-7500 is waiting for repair for over a year. Peavy not getting parts in. My local shop said avoid peavy and they are a dealer. It is funny because the 6k has been fine but these two drivers even in a massive ported enclosure makes it light up red quit a bit. I have thought about speaker power but I have never believed in spending more on amps than speakers.

So I purchased all new gear including the 7704, outlaw 5000, outlaw 7140, emotiva XPA-5 gen 2, and the outlaw 7500. I am comparing the amps now. I don?t expect much differences except maybe dynamics, sound stage, and noise floor. I am still contemplating which amp to upgrade to for the subs. Here are the amps being compared, I just stuck them in place as they arrived.

A bigger Jasper Jig. Once I got my 300 a couple years back I stopped using my 200. 24” cutout is 22.5”.

I saw that Jasper jig, makes me want two 24s to add to my RE xxx. Seriously, my bass now is more impressive than my 12 sealed Si subs I owned. Now these are ported. I am limited by the inuke but it is impressive for $300.

So far I like the Outlaw 7500 best and this is why, lowest noise floor, better built XLR inputs. The 7140 and XPA use the same xlr inputs. The rcas are the same and better on the XPA and 7500. The binding posts are the same and better as well. The noise floor is very similar on the XPA and 7140. As for sound, not sure, it was sighted and I did the switching. I thought maybe the Emotiva and 7500 had a bigger sound stage but I am performing blind tests tonight. I am selling my almost new, 6 months old 7140, keeping the other two.

What's the dimensions of those speakers?
I always thought that the TLAH would be with more speakers, but I guess BFM added details for a 4tweeter 2 sub?

For the TLAH? The TLAH have 9 woofers and 12 tweeters. I am actually taking out the cheaper drivers and putting in eminence and peerless drivers in them. I am not quite finished with this design. I just built a new monitor and I like it very much, I will get pics up soon.
