I think I might be interested. I'm in grand rapids, mi, so it is a bit of a drive, but I'm really needing something to tip me over the edge into diy land. I'd love to hear some options in person.

Eng when would be the date?

I might be in the area visiting family. Area as in Indianapolis. Maybe not available but you never know. I have to try and listen to a few things while I am back home. Hoping to find some Synergy Horns in the area, would love to try and hear Ricci's MAUL's but we will have to see what I can do in my short amount of time.

I would definitely be there. I'll bring the Sewer Subs and the 12000HD! Hopefully they go home with someone else.

Awesome guys looks like there’s still interest in this I’ll figure out some dates and get it going in a month or two.

Same amount of guys as last time I’ll cap it at 40 guys for the day.

If I can get my basement and room to a point it would not be as embarrassing, I'd consider giving a couple tours of my little theater. I'm just 15 minutes down the road from Eng.

But these GTGs are always a blast! Such a great time spending time with others who share such an intense hobby as this.

i can't speak for anyone else. but as long as the place is mostly clean and mostly safe, i don't think anyone would care. I/we want to hear/see systems to give us an idea of where ours stand. and learn how to make ours better, hands on so to say(not that I would be actually touching anything)

yep, no doubt

If people want to hear or A/B the JBL stuff I'm happy to bring some.

I'd be willing to bring one of my JBL G-734 and a JBL 227C.

I'm running JBL 328C for my Atmos but the JBL 227C would make a good Atmos speaker for a lot of people, I have one installed in the backcan. The 227C are being used for our inside speakers in our ceiling in our main living space.

I can also bring a pair of extremely cheap but surprisingly good. Kicker indoor out door speakers.

This time around I think I will just bring myself lol....

I've sold all my gear I can sell, and trucking up some Polk SDA's and AV123 ELT-525T's would be more work than I want to do lol.....

Just make sure you do this AFTER Axpona... anyone reading this going should stop by @AudioThesis ..... Skips gonna be showcasing some really cool stuff this year from what I understand.

Thanks for Spreading the word Mike!

I will be setting up Skips room and providing acoustic treatment but will likely be covering the show. For those who don’t already know, I am now a staff writer for AV NIRVANA. As the official Home for REW we were asked to provide a Masterclass on REW and I will be providing the presentation. It will be a general overview and provide a short case study example of how REW can be used to aid in setting up a room. I wrote a similar article on subwoofer SBIR effects and used REW to find and get rid of them. The article was well received including positive feedback from Mark Seaton.

For those with a more sophisticated background in REW I don’t believe that this will be particularly informative but I would appreciate the support for anyone who shows up. We had discussed doing an in situ demo and delve more deeply (true to the masterclass name) but have found that the likely audience would not follow such a presentation and live demos are not possible. The Masterclass will be in the main theater and attendees need to use headphones as there will be no speakers nor are we allowed to make a lot of noise. If we can get sufficient support to purchase access to a room for an hour we may do a live demo masterclass in the future.

If anyone wants more details just message me. I don’t want to say too much and inadvertently run afoul of the forum rules.

When you say $200 do you mean for all surround speakers and a subwoofer or per speaker? Sorry if I missed some context.

Diy always offers great value other than at the bottom of the price point. We don’t have the economies of scale that manufacturers do and so it’s hard to match what they can produce.

If you can give more details their may be options. I’m even reviewing something now that might be an option and could include a diy component.

$400 for generic summer dates(weekend) flights on Southwest Airlines, not bad. I’m sure I could make it work.
