It doesn't matter what way you go about it, as long as they are all hooked together properly. You could solder and heat shrink, use crimp connectors, mount a buss bar, etc.

Yah like Michael said whatever works as long as it's a good connection. I'm running series/parallel and I soldered and heat shrunk all the connectors from one driver to another, and then used butt connectors on the tabs. Also double check with a 9v battery all your drivers are in phase BEFORE closing everything up.

My one box I switched around the + to - on two drivers and didn't realize it till after I dropped em in. Granted one cab had 8 drivers and I had to take out 3 or 4 to fix it but still a pita that's easy to avoid. I was just so damn excited to finish and listen finally I didn't focus on the task at hand.

Btw I'm *hoping* to get some measurements up this week. Sorry to all it took so long but the Asio driver wouldn't work, then I realized I had no serial number on my mic(don't ask) so hence no mic calibration, so now I have to do it manually. Anywho I'm gonna try and finish up REW today/tomorrow and if I need any help @Shreds is gonna help me. I'm also gonna give him a close mic response so he can build me a custom signal shaper for the Adam Bombs and I can stop stealing my wife's.

Went to parts express, decided to buy some binding posts to go from 1 2pole wire to 2 2pole wires (parrallel the two boxes wired in series). My plan is to actually mount it backwards on the face of one box lol, then I have the post to connect the other box too just by using the 1/4" rings, and internally I can use the screw down clamps. Yes, my genius even surprised me on this one. I had to get a speakon connector too so it worked out well.

Just a picture of how I connected things. That's also how I got wires into that box. Worked pretty well! Noticed I need some electrical tape on the negative wire.

So I just unplugged channel a input and moved it to channel b, so the quad horn wasn't running. I think I'm done with bass finally lol. I'm not even getting signal lights on the inuke and it's intense.

Blown away at how it sounds for what it costs. Hopefully I can integrate the quadhorn back into it. Still need to do some rew/dsp work, first impressions are awesome. I love my little room! It may need bass traps now though.

Oh well, time to go clean up and throw a movie in lol, maybe run my 2nd 50' subwoofer cable to the inuke. Which movie to start with? Hmmmm 🙂

Personally, I would start with one of the AVS demo disks. But I may be just a little biased.

They rock the **** on music. My horn still beats them down low though. Watched a few scenes, deadpool was pretty good, thor ragnarok was gutless. I've been toying with the 0-180 phase. I've ran audyssey a few times and did the -12db high shelf to get a 10hz highpass, then adding gain back in. Tomorrow I'll mess with rew. It's night and day difference in music though, they pound (like they should since they are designed too), my quadhorn is opposite, great for movies as is, very little bass with music. The jbls are getting better down low but shine for music. My hot seat is interesting lol.

I just stumbled across these dual 12" boxes. I'm sure they'd need some bracing, but that price is insane.

QSMBASS12

I’m not an fan of 5/8 thickness either. 3/4 is the standard and I’d stick to it (which likely rules out most car audio enclosures).

But that’s me.

I agree with you, but if someone wanted to hit the easy button and just add some bracing, this might be the ticket.
You can't even buy a sheet of plywood that cheap.

Wow. That cost just about covers the terminal cups. I just about can't say no to those. I haven't looked it up but will the JBL CS1214's mount onto these?

Whatever on the cutout size (I'll make it work). Enclosure says 11.25" cutout and JBL says 11". Should be ok. I pulled the trigger on two of them. I really couldn't afford not to

Thanks for posting that.

For $27, they can be temporary enclosures for four CS1214's behind my MLP so I can evaluate how to blend them with my UM18's up front and whether or not I even like near field bass. For $27, if I don't like it, well, I've wasted more on less.

If I *do* like them, I can either keep them and build a sofa-table/bar around them, or just put them to the road and build a new enclosure with 3/4" ply or MDF.

whos running some of these sealed on a inuke 6000dsp?

Do we need to do the highpass filter trick to push them down to 10hz?

Im trying to figure out if I need to boost other freq down low or just leave the -12db hs12 20hz with the 12db gain, or if thats even needed since they are sealed? I run that and then a lowpass 70hz butterworth so they arent so in my face. But Im lacking the low stuff still it seems.

So, still on the project choices, I have a question: could this fit well? Does someone has used them yet? They do not tell what's the thickness of the Mdf used, but they weight a lot:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F263100795507
As for the price, I understand it is on the high side.
What worries me is they're on the slim size, 30 liters x each drive is 1,05944 cu ft.. I have to subtract the drive volume itself, so we will be in the 0,9 cu ft region net! Will it suffice for nearfield ( 1 meter from Mlp, will have two boxes for 4 drivers total)???
On a side note I have a Inuke 3000dsp arriving next week from Germany, has been shipped yesterday. Laptop prepped (double Crucial Ssd in place).
Read the first 35 pages (of a total 133) of the Rew guide! Umik1 working.
Thanks to all!

You can just use low shelf filters to your liking to boost the low end. They can take a lot! You will hear if the driver or amp get too much ULF

Are you talking a Ls6 or Ls12 filter? Thats what I did. Took the Hs12 off and did a ls6 with 6db gain.

That box looks to small to me. What I did was find a dual 15" box so it was around 1.9 per side. youll be under 1 all said and done.

Thanks for posting this. I ordered two of them and checked my email after seeing your post and I got the same message this morning.

I suppose it's legitimate. Or, the guy realized that the selling price didn't even cover his shipping cost and used the old "my account got hacked".

No worries. Nothing lost. It was going to be a temporary thing anyway. Now I have to build boxes though.

Remember it's 5/8" MDF. I'm using mine in a car vented, so will add just a little extra bracing to compensate. $33 shipped is still a good deal and I don't need another build project at this time.

It *is* still a good deal but for me it went from $27 for two of them to $67 for two of them. That's the same as going from "holy cow I can't afford to NOT buy those!!" to, "well, I can save $67 and build something out of all that MDF I have in the garage some rainy day."

Everyone's threshold is different of course but jacking the price up 2.5x times crossed mine so I'll pass.

The guy's got a 100% feedback rating and I'm not interested in giving him any beef over this, but it seems fishy.

Everyone's threshold is different of course but jacking the price up 2.5x times crossed mine so I'll pass.

The guy's got a 100% feedback rating and I'm not interested in giving him any beef over this, but it seems fishy.

Yeah, I get it. Since I'm using it in a car and I just ordered the 2 12's I'm just happy to have the box finished instead of doing my own. I just used up my extra MDF on some ported Volt enclosures.

Yeah, I'd definitely go for it too if I thought that they might be *the* solution (ie. work just great as-is in the car). For me, I'd have probably used them for a few months until I got the time/gumption to build what I *really* want which is a near-field sofa table/sub. These boxes were a chance to place them, go through the process of setting up near-field subs (learn how to do it), and then see if I like them.

I think below 1cf is starting to get small, but hey you can probably boost your way out of it with EQ. And they were expensive too.

That box looks to small to me. What I did was find a dual 15" box so it was around 1.9 per side. youll be under 1 all said and done.
I have LS12. And some gain on top of that. No problem

Thanks for the reply, @Nalleh ! I had decided to go another product after the previous reply, so bought these (2):

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F262891145177

The seller was kind enough (16/7) to give a 5£ rebate each, they are coming maybe Monday.
In the meanwhile the Inuke arrived from Germany, looking at it, prepped some cables, exchanged the outputs for my mains and fired the Inuke. Something not really amusing for my ears. Flattish and not dynamic at all (I am comparing Inuke with my 35 YO ss stereo amplifier! ). Will connect the PC and look at some changes to be done with the included Dsp. I wonder if it could be a return, the AC and Usb cables were in an open and rewrapped plastic bag! What to look for ?

if it was a return make sure there are no DSP settings left in it.

Thanks for the hint, @trilkb . Nothing left in. Connected to the laptop I have in the cave (slowly proceeding in the Rew steep learning curve, and ATM everything works! Yet), without making changes ( I programmed the Inuke from the front sequence, Stereo with no other processing, I only limited the output at -30db, now I set it at -18db, I must say a bit better, volume is actually at 1o'clock). But .... IT STOPS SUDDENLY PLAYING! It stopped while connected to the laptop, I thought it was because of me not entering any input. It has done it again without connection to the laptop!) I am listening in pure direct. Tv set could stop working (no signal) and put the Avr Off, wthout me noticing it?
Problem solved: the Tv shutting off after 10minutes. The Avr stood ON (!), the Mdax light on, no other light (the little on/off led light was unlighted!). But no sound after the 60 second count down, then the Tv shutted off itself. Only turning Tv on the sound came out immediately! No other movement on the Sr7011 screen (listening in pure direct, I remember).
Phew!

Listening to this:

.... So now I have a new amplifier and an included ... free ventilation in the room! Bloody noisy fan!
I also wonder if it could affect Audissey or Rew measurements!
