This is going to suck for a lot of folks for sure. Looks like I’ll be buying Ultimaxes for my brother’s upcoming build.

I just find it hard to believe that "not enough demand" is the real reason for the discontinuation. I've felt like the price on these could be $200-225 and almost the same amount of people buying them for $160 would still buy them. I just feel like there's more to the story, but we'll likely never know.

Hard to believe seeing all the traffic lately about the HT18. I was going to buy some when I move back stateside soon. Looks like UM’s for me.

SI definitely doesn't seem to be going out of business. This is from the for sale ad for the company demo car: "We are going to move to a slightly larger vehicle platform so our Bora/Jetta TDI is for sale"

Also I will take any chance to vent about my frustration of the UM18 being out of stock since late July. I've been waiting for my factory defect replacement since then.

This is a bummer. I too was planning on getting a couple of these. I am surprised that these are not selling like crazy for the price. Almost seems inconceivable. I guess I will just have to keep an eye out for one used in the local markets to go with my V1.

Sad sad sad..........l

Apparently the minimum order from china is fairly small........some of us have money, perhaps a deal needs to be made......

Looks like the turn around was less than a year on the minimum order ?

Perhaps the china connection fell thru or raised prices.....or the import fees will be skyrocketing.....seems strange.

Kinda wish Nick would stop by, give us an update of future plans. After hearing these at Mike's g2g, I wanted to get a pair for some living room end tables.

Boy am I happy I got while the gettin was good but I had intended to grab 4-8 more before they were gone.
What a surprise if they are gone for good. I too would like for Nick/ @Electrodynamic to stop by and weigh in on what the future holds.

This is very unfortunate news. I just took delivery of an HT-18 v2 but I was planning to order a few more in the upcoming weeks. A friend of mine was ready to purchase one as well. Judging from this thread, I find it hard to believe that this sub wasn't in demand. There's really nothing at this price point that compares. I sure hope that Nick considers another production run of the v2.

I'd welcome that in a heartbeat. However, the v2 was a bargain. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them even if they were priced a bit higher than what they were.

Arrow Group Order Petition...

If I was y'all (all who really want more of these drivers), I'd start an "HT-18v2 Group Buy Petition" thread and gather together orders until it counts up to about 100 units.

Then email Stereo Integrity with the orders and make a deal. If it was me, and low demand was the reason for the discontinuation, 100 units all in one shot would be too enticing to pass up.

If you can't amass an order of 100 units within a reasonable time frame then you have your answer and...

(I don't speak for Nick and he might still tell you to get bent. Just an idea guys.)

It IS the reason. Conspiracy theory (disbelief) all you want, sales show otherwise. Sorry but the HT-18's are gone.

What was the minimum order ? PCS

Would you be willing to let someone step up since it was the only made in china product you carried ,and a place a entire order ?

I had bookmarked your pedestal build. It seemed like the perfect thing for my limited DIY skills, and all at a super affordable price. I wasn't planning on doing it for a while, but it still stings that I would basically have to spend double on a UM-18 to do something similar now- and still not even end up with your build. I believe you didn't even need to use any DSP on yours, or it was fine to play right "out of the box"?

Gutted.

Like many others I feel this is very unfortunate as I too was planning on a build with two of these. Does this mean there could be a possible return of the DS4-18??

Honestly, the HT18 was more to make you guys happy, than to make any real money on them. You guy want cheaper and cheaper.... It gets to the point where it's not worth it. Hes way better off focusing on his other stuff that can sustain his business, rather than doing a ton of small stuff that doesn't pay very well.
If he was Wal-Mart maybe it would make sense but not being a small business. That's a lot of extra work for next to nothing.

He could still offer it on a per-(mass)order basis. He keeps an order sheet of some minimum (say 50 or 100) units, and once enough are "sold" then the real order goes in to fulfill them. The Daytons go out of stock for months, so it's not like this less-frequent per order system would be that inconvenient. I'm sure if someone had to wait 1-2 months for enough orders to be filled they would do so, given the price and value of the HT-18.

Maybe none of the above is feasible though.. I dont know.. was just a thought
