The theater built by this forum

Hey guys, I have finally more or less finished building all the components .... for now. This forum has played a big role in helping me get to this stage in the project so I just thought I would share.

LCR - DIYsoundgroup 1099
Rear and surrounds - DIYsoundgroup volt10xl
Subs - VBSS Subs, my first cabinet from scratch
Amp - ATI 2007
Preamp - Anthem avm30, eventually to be replaced by an emotiva rmc-1
JVC projector onto a carada screen

You are certainly not the only one, out of my 13 speakers, 11 are from diysound group, and I hope to be adding 6 more in the coming months, plus I need a set of speakers for my home office, and those helix ribbons are calling my name. Erich has started a revolution in accessable, great sounding home theater speakers.

I love the finish on your mains btw!

HO! HO! HO!
The 15's are fantastically smart science, and effortless,, 3 dimensional sound field, easy and a joy to listen to

clarity and detail like i never heard and if you can tune the room and EQ a bit,
they will make your legacy stereo stuff sound like "brand new', even if the ears aren't anymore

FTR the red 88's are surrounds, that's 5 x 15" seos horns in the base layer - might be good enough

DIYSG rocks

No, they are done locally, $60cdn each it wasn't worth building myself.

No, not really. I used a danish oil specifically with that concern in mind. It doesn't absorb light but I've never had a problem with it.

What's the deal with all your hectic metal grilles wrt to your speakers and amp rack?

Got cats?

The "oven rack grills" for the LCR -because: DIY and a bounty of stuff lying around
the "toaster over rack" grills for the 88 surrounds -ran out of oven racks.

It's all Closetmaid open wire shelving trimmed and painted because it just seemed to "fit'. YMMV.
I couldn't find a suitable speaker grill material anyway

and I like the open look wrt (AH_HA!) those 15" SEOS horns

(if I could get a few bucks for the rears, the Klipsch F-3 towers, I'd jump on some HTM 12's) ( 7 horns in the bed layer!)

and I'm willing to bet the OP had a much greater WAF factor. I've shown the picture to my girl Iris and the comment was, How nice and neat.
The front wall panels, DIY for sound panels is considerable work but if you can just write a check, more power to you.
Those are free standing for 1st reflection point in the mancave for "tuning". the left and right walls are mirrors, under medium curtains, usually . .

Just because I can do it doesn't mean or I anyone else should but then, there is nobody to tell me NO!, in my own home.

maybe some day I'll catch up on that domesticated and housebroken thing I hear some women insist upon

p.s.
the metal caneing on the rack is for reducing light from the SCATMOS AVR's and the ATI amp.

very few rules in my home
