10-18’s you say. Your only using 4 behind your screen and two Nearfield. That leaves 4 left for the rear of the room. Two in each corner is what I would do. Moar bass!!!

You know I respect you sir, but I have two in the back already. Four behind screen, and two will be nearfield. No moar for me. My house is falling apart. And I really don’t want my neighbors to complain. Lol. Please settle for 8 18’s.

Lol I hear ya once your at the level of bass that you have things get scary with the house! Sometimes I feeling my ceiling is going to drop on top of me. Once my lights started raining drywall dust around the light I told myself I’m good now with the bass.

It makes me wish I would’ve employed the maximum soundproofing techniques to control the brutal force on my walls/floors/ceilings.

Eng, how does the 4 hst’s compared to the old 4 ds4’s on paper? I know you don’t know off the top of your head, but I’d love to know.

If you have a mic can you take a sweep of the HST driver and one of the ds4 driver with them both set at the same level. I'm wondering how much more your gaining at the same volume level. I think the HST drivers are more sensitive drivers. Do feel there's any difference in sound like the HST sounds warmer to you.
Thanks

I will do so when I have the house to myself. I can tell the hst’s are more sensitive. The bass in my room is already way louder and I have two more to swap out. Just waiting for a buddy to come help. Probably later this week.

I wish you could see it in person. Those hst’s are monstrous. But so are the ds4’s, it’s crazy how they are dwarfed.

that graph for the HST in those cabs looks great.

Those things are MONSTERS. Its hard to fully realize from a photo but I know the DS4's are pretty beefy and sitting next to the HST's makes them look like a midrange!

Just to clarify, the hst’s are going up front in the cyclops and Martys and 2 ds4’s are going in the new boxes. Hst’s wouldn’t work in 6cf.

I wanted to briefly mention that you don't want unconnected speakers in the same room. They act as passive radiators or helmholtz resonators. Not sure how significant the effect would be.

@brian6751 I owe you a solid. The tip to have the lumber yard cut the mdf is the best news ever. The panels fit together so dang nice and the finish product will be that much better. Thanks man. @eng-399 I owe you as well. Thank you for modeling the subs for me. Not just the new boxes but the old ones as well. Without your help this project would’ve never happened. I bought the drivers based on knowing you would help me out. Lol.
You guys rock

No problem man!

They do a great job and I think their MDF quality is really good. Price is nice to.

After they cut a few projects up for me, I sold my table saw.

Wishful thinking, but someday it would be fun to compare the HSTs to my Platform 3s. Thing is with monster subs, they ain't exactly portable.

Regardless... have mercy on your construction because this is going to put it to the test! Excited for you and following along.

Are the three speakers next to the mini-marties VBSS's? If so, what driver is that? The PA460?
