I’ll order pizza around 3pm plus Jeff is going to bring some BBQ!!! HE brought it last year and everyone loved it.
I'm excited to Host another annual GTG meet in the Chicago land burbs. The last few have been a great success with around 40 plus avs friends. We all learned alot from each other had some really fun demo's of different DIYSG speakers and DIY subs along with a bunch of other speakers that many members brought over and hope the same will happen this time around.
Matt Poes did a REW class in my room that was very helpfull to a lot of people which I'm hoping he can do again. Matt taught the master class at Axpona this year as well.
James from Audioholics did a bass test in the room and did write up thqt was published on Audioholics webstite Jan. 2017....That was fun with everyone joining in for the test.
Skip from Audio Thesis brought a lot of his 2 channel gear to show everyone and was a big hit!
We were all able to here
his new flex-12 sub/mbm design and VBSS that took off I hope he has something new this time around for everyone to see and hear time will tell. The flex-12 design using DIYSG's Magnum sub which can be found on there website sound amazing and blew everyone away with how much bass just 2 of the 12's put out. Well Matt I liked them so much personally bought two of them and recently built them for the wifes 2 channel setup.
What were going to do this time around is just have fun and enjoy the day but I might do a small winisd session to show guys how easy it is to model subs for us DIY guys. I feel you really get your money worth and can outperform some store bought subs at a fraction of the cost. If I can spend 15-20 mins going through winisd showing the basics this would help many people feel more comfortable when doing it them self.
What about Food and drinks?????
I'm going to buy some beer, pop, water and snacks finger food for everyone who comes but if everyone could please try to bring something like a appetizer, beer, chips what ever you think would be a huge help to me since there's so many guys that will be here.
I'm going to order pizza's for all of us around 4 p.m. so if everyone could pitch in 10$ a guy that would help me offset the cost of the day.
The purpose of this GTG is for all of us AVS friends hear some nice DIYSG speakers and diy subs and store bought speakers and subs but other ID companys are welcome to bring there speakers and subs to just like last year. We had Jeff from JTR 2 years back bring his speakers and one of his subs over which was a nice treat to hear. This year he told me he would bring over what ever sub we wanted to hear along with some speakers from JTR.
This AVS GTG crowd from last year was very diverse and ages were from mid 20's to middle 60's. Everyone is very friendly and has lots of input about are crazy hobby. Shop talk was non stop and helped so many people including myself. I hope to go over level balancing subs in the room and a little bit of rew while people are in the room.

I have that covered with 15 TB worth of movies, demo disc's, music and misc material to be play but if someone want's to hear something specific please bring the bluray disc or cd with them.
