I got similar results on the Sanway 14k. About 155v rms no-load. Therefore the 20k has comparable (theoretical) burst power capabilities.

@147v there's no clipping. @148v clipping is present with a light shade of red. I was able to push the amp to 179v until I chickened out

BTW @BassThatHz will you please contact Dan Guo at XBS. They're bugging me about whether I know you. Tell him we don't have a FP7000. Do I know your real name.

What are you guys thoughts about heat management on the 20 vs the 14? Guessing it’s not advised to swap fans on these and so I’m wondering about 2x14k at a bit more money or the 20k with possibly more heat per rack unit.

I’ve read that the fans are noisy, but haven’t seen any comparisons to, say an inuke or something. Imagining that these are hovercraft class fan noise but?

I've never owned a fp14k, so I can't speak on it. AFAIK, BTH will be the first to own both an fp14k and fp20k. As far as the fan noise comparison between the iNuke and the clones, it's not even close; clones are much, much louder.

The heat management on the 14k is very good. It rarely if ever gets above luke warm. But it's fans are twice as noisy as an inuke.
The inuke's are not very loud actually, they are about as loud as most projectors at idle.
With a fan mod they are very quiet as per vids on NotNyt's thread.

Under load the clone might actually be quieter because the fans rarely rev up past 10-50%.

The rails are probably 200V as per the cap values, but anything beyond clipping is unrealistic, you'll never reach that voltage with any load.

3850w rms @ 4ohm is 124v rms etc

The box should be here any day now...

For your remodel can lights popping out of the ceiling , the tabs should have holes in them where they lay against the can . With a little patience you can run self tapping screws through those into the housing to lock them in place .

That's a great idea. I've since put duct tape over them and it seem to be working for now. I'll have to try your idea if the duct tape some how come loosen.

Now that I have the FP20k running the hs24's, that leaves me with 4 channels free on one of my FP10ks. My plan is to run 4 ported MBMs loaded with PA460 @4 ohms between 2 channels and 4 ported mofo 15 @ 4 ohms on the other two channels. The 4 mofo will be nearfield for my rear row of seats and the PA460 MBMs will be up front. That still leaves me with 2 channels free on the FP20k.

You might as well just have finished it off by saying: "Which I will add another 2 24's on." You know you want too! (and we know you will...)

Just do it!

BTW: What LED have you got up to thus far in actual-use?

No I'm not........Ok I want to
I can get two HS24's as they're currently on sale. But you really have me intrigued by the SAB24. I see they have a MOQ 1 option, but I'm not sure if it is the same one you have. And also, if they send me a dual 1 ohm then I'm screwed.

With both coils in series mine came out to be 3-ohm at 1-4hz and >5-ohms above 5hz, so their dual 1-ohm coils are not as "horrible a load" as it appears to be paper. (or my WT2 is broken... LOL! )

In any case, the 20k didn't turn off with 70v rms sinewave into their dual 1-ohm coils, sustained indefinitely.

That would be a wise choice me thinks!

Are you trying to clone my system or something?

First you bought the 20k the same day as me, blind risk, and now you want to add the zillion 460's that I also just recently added to my room to yours. I see a pattern here! (Not that copying me is bad per-se... perhaps minus the insanity though!)

If you do, you'll have lots of "overwhelming bass" at-least.

Still havent gotten a response back from the SAB 24" MOQ 1 vendor. Because I looked at exploring this option and if it worked out I would try a pair out. Then add a large clone amp for fun.

Ok, 20 of these

They're on sale

Seriously it's really just a coincidence. I had been pondering the thought of a FP20k for some time now. XBS was the first I've seen that offered paypal as an option. As far as the PA460, my plan would have been just to build them without ever mentioning it. It seems as they are not popular by some when it comes to building tons of them

Yep. That looks like a normal 120V 15A plug.

Again I ask, be careful of what The amps don't come with a 30a 240V plug. I knew that going in. The first thing I did was replace the plug that came with the amp with a 30a 240V plug. I really don't get what you two are saying

I guess I was just trying to point out that they sent you an additional plug that won't work with your amp. You obviously know this already.

Based on the email they sent to you...

"Hi James,
...
1. For my mistakes: I thought you need standard US plug, so we send 200V-240V amplifier with 30A standard US plug to you. We can provide another US plug (we call it industrial US plug), but I didn't confirm the plug picture to you. Sorry for the inconvenience.
(Please note that your amplifer working voltage is 200-240V, CAN NOT use at 90-130 V. If you want 110V, please contact us to change circuit)..."

They are saying that your amp will not work with 120VAC, but then send you a 120VAC plug.

I just thought this needed to be pointed out for not just you, but anyone else who may follow in your footsteps.

No worries on my end. You know what you're doing. Enjoy your amp.

I turn the sharpness on my TV all the way up, because that's how I like my picture... real sharp.

So you asked for a 30a 240v plug and they send another 120v 15a plug (for a 240v amp).

Classic!

I just thought this needed to be pointed out for not just you, but anyone else who may follow in your footsteps.
Good point. As for me, I said it in another thread, If the only concern with the amp is whether I receive the correct plug, then I'm winning

So what are the final outcomes of this amp. Have we pushed it hard at all on four channels?

I wonder if one of these amps is ordered with the powercon option and 240vac it will actually be that. Not sure about my subs yet but may have someone I can get a sample from. Maybe ..

I haven't, as I don't have enough subs right now.

They have that option, but I'd recommend you to be relentless in your effort to get your point across to them.

That's the exact config I plan on ordering, but won't be for a little bit so I'll sit back and enjoy watching you guinea pigs
