The delta hub at DTW is very nice. I just went through there.
I know man time is flying. I just started duratex on my 1299 baffles and there looking real sweet. I can’t wait to fire them up.
Jeremy’s V3’s came out sweet and we’re gonna tune them up before the GTGs. I can’t believe how good they sound down as low as 15 hz. His room is huge but every seat feels like it’s got crowsons in them.

I would LOVE to bring that home with me, but I'd have to build an enclosure big enough for me to live in after my wife kicks me out.

Would one 24" be enough for a 10 x 23 room and does it model well in a horn loaded sub like the v3?

This was exactly my thinking. When i ordered one sub at first and then decided what if i need more than one, so i quickly called Nick and added a second one. Now i just need my amp and i think i am going with the xbs 20k and that would give me the option of adding 2 more if needed. That does sound a little silly but maybe not? We shall see i guess.

Im gonna say no, that v3 is a 21" driver. Horns are very driver specific and its more coincidence than anything if another driver works in it. But a 24 in a horn tuned to under 20hz is going to be a box that takes up half of your 10x23 room lol.

Is your 10x23 room a dedicated theater?

Lol your dead on I asked john aka ltd02 this same question and he said the box would have to be around 3 times the v3 box size so around 130 cubic ft lol

Too bad....I really enjoy the sound signature of horns. I guess I will have to build some v3's and get some B&C's.

Yes it is a dedicated theater with a lilwrecker (loaded with a 15 inch) nearfield and two 18" in cyclops enclosures up front. I am having a hard time integrating the three subs. When I put in the lilwrecker I lose most of the mid bass.

Can't wait to hear those v3's!

Phil.

Are you using REW and mini dsp? Or just letting Audyssey do it’s thing?
One little trick I had to do once was a master reset on my AVR. That fixed my issues I was having with sub integration.

I do not have a mini dsp but I do have rew and a umik-1 but because of work I haven't been able to play around with it as much as I want. What I did was tried different settings in the inuke.

Thanks for the tip about the reset. I will try that on my avr (pioneer sc-65).

What I ran for awhile is a single fold horn with the alpine sws15 that would also work in the lilwrecker. Lilwrecker is tuned to what, 17hz? the "quad horn" is tuned to 22hz. So it probably does mid bass a bit better.

My room is 11x24 or so and the 8 jbl 12's I run is midbass galore.

Im hoping it doesnt snow or anything!

We have similar dimensions and I also have the alpine driver in the lilwrecker. I thought that having two 18's (pro drivers) made for mid bass would actually make my chest beg for mercy but alas I was disappointed....(in all fairness it might be a calibration issue since I havn't had time to properly go down that rabbit hole yet!). That is why I can't wait to see Jarod's and Jeremy's setup to see how close or how far I am from my goals.

Maybe they are unrealistic?....Or maybe I just need more drivers?

Phil.

My system is not a midbass monster. I don’t really like hot midbass. But I do like hot bass bass. I look forward to your opinions.

Man fired the 4 up with the baffle wall being finished and wow spl didnt go up crazy but it's so much more tactile. John wick 2 tunnel scene was awesome every seat feels like it has butt kickers in it and the sound is so clean and distortion free

Not Jarrod here but I’ve had one setup almost having me beg for mercy which was lukemanamd on avs with his 10-12 21” subs and monster size mains with dual 18” drivers in them. The bass was insane in his room it actually starts hurting your chest.
