I am really happy for you that this has turned way better than you thought. My only concern is now will your house withstand your theatre?

I could be wrong but i thought i heard that Luke actually blew a wall out of his room because the SPL was so high like in to the 150 plus range. I have sat in cars that could do that and yes your body hurts. That is a awesome experience for sure.

This! + I want to feel the gunshots in your chest! Not to the point where it hurts and you want to vomit. Just a nice thump that let's you feel every gun shots. It seems it is always one or the other but I like both and I do not want to lose that tactile feeling from the horn.

Love that scene!

Phil.

My 8 12's do that . Another thing that helps me with tactile feel is a hollow foot rest.

Sounds like you need to get REW and umik one out. IF you get that far you can make it easy on yourself and use the REW AUTO EQ function and it will spit out some EQ settings you can input into whatever DSP amp you are running. Ive learned some about REW, not near as much as other people. But you should run tests at listening volume.

The jbls are a bit more involved since they typically have a huge peak at 60-70hz and are weak down low. They need a 10-12db boost from 40hz down minimum. Thats why I like sealed, horns you shouldnt boost, just knock down the peaks, sealed you can do whatever is needed.

Id be interested to see a REW measurement from your setup, mine was UGLY befor I started. Its better, but not perfect. Even with 4 12's in each front corner my seating position isnt the best because of the room.

I kind of hope someone talks about REW, I read in the past sometimes it happens. Theres tons to learn about it.

I’m sure @eng-399 will be happy to run a quick REW sweep in both of our rooms. Mine is extremely convenient to hook up and run. He could then explain what we see with measurements. This is all assuming he doesn’t mind . I can even show measurements of each group of subs adding to the overall spl and flattening of the response at the mlp. I had a blast measuring and seeing the improvement @mtg90 work through did with adding delay.

I just for home from work. I will reset my AVR and start hooking up my mic. Should I take measurements before running MCACC?

no, youll run mcacc, then youll have to get a laptop and open REW and hookup the umik1 and go through that process. Definitely dont take a measurement at listen level unless you know what freq you are starting at.

That was a good one I stumbled across. I need visual to learn.

Haven't read the whole thread, but have fun with the GTG's through mid Feb.

Going on a cruise first week of Feb- my first one.

Prog Rock theme

I think my HT got Brian H's sign off, so I should be good to go for a gtg after I install my first 4 Atmos ceiling speakers.
