Would love to see the back of that 21" driver! Looks like it'll be shooting into the direction of B&C's 21DS115, but I doubt that it will be any cheaper for me or anybody else in Europe. Something comparable to the UM12 with better sensitivity would be awesome thou.

I doubt these will compete with the B&C and be at all competitive in pricing. I bet these will be much like the PA460 on steroids.

Biiiig mid bass and just enough excursion to handle some ULF.

No NEO and the magnet looks a little on the small side.. If this comes in at 300$ it should be a good value product.

Edit: Just for comparison, the LaVoce SAF214.50 has an Xmax of 12.5mm and a 2000W power rating. That driver is 330$ here, so I guess the Dayton will be very similar to it

The WAF has decent motor strength and performs pretty damn well across the board. But I think its $470 normally, the $330 is just a sales price.

If this competes with the WAF 21" at $330 we'll have a broad range of competitive 21"s

335$ (converted from 306€) is the regular price I can get it here for, just as I can get the 21DS115 for a little over 400$. The Daytons are very expensive compared to that, as I'd pay almost 300$ for a UM12. Guess the roles are reversed in the states.

Same here. I'd like to build next year a new 18" sub as an end table, my first though is the current HO from RSS series, but I wonder if these new HE series will be actually available in the next future.
Any seer in the audience?

Is this like a PA530 from the same pedigree as the PA460?

Construction looks similar but we aren't sure yet. Good guess on the name if they continue the ~mm naming structure.

Hopefully they will not have a two layer coil for low back emf lol. When you look at a subwoofer, and see all the material that goes into the motor and cone, it really is a shame to be skimpy on the coil! Lots of hype over drivers that do not exist so I guess we do not have to wait for the good reviews.

A Good amplifier requires a adequate power supply, It does not matter what the amplifier is capable of if the power supply will not provide the power required. Most amplifiers have under rated power supplies. It is up to you to make sure you get the ones that are least under rated if at all.

This looks like a 21” version of the 465 not the 460. Same basket design and similar motor size relative to the cone.

They are coming this March, and here are the prices. Doesn't look like there is an 18" planned, as of yet.

10" - $235
12" - $265
15" - $305

I'm guessing these will be very heafty drivers, and a great alternative to the much more expensive Stereo Integrity HST line. 🙂 I wasn't able to get any t/s parameters, wattage, or Xmax for these, but my feeling is that they'll work in smaller ported boxes, and have a ton of Xmax. So excited to see what the final specs are.

Thanks Blake,

I expected an 18" versión, but if the 15" has lot of Xmax and good t/s parameters, should be a good candidate too!.

The 18” might have been too ambitious for them. Even SI isn’t doing an 18 with the new SQ and RM series.

I wonder why, though? I mean they made the Ultimax 18" and the HO, they could just price it accordingly.

The picture they posted earlier is definitely a 21” so maybe they’re just not done with the bigger drivers yet.

Look at post 63. Not high excursion like an HST. More like a high Xmas pro sub.

Because they had a lot of projects all at once. I’m not saying an 18” won’t ever be in the picture, just that they are going to release what they think will be bigger sales first.

According to some of the earlier posts, these have already been delayed. So who knows what snags these drivers hit that didn’t affect the Ultimax.

Dayton is popular with avsforum and the DIY audio community, in general. I can't imagine the 18" model would sell poorly, at all.
