RSS390HO-4 vs RSS460-HO

I have a RSS390HO-4 15 incher that I'm moving from it's sealed box to the biggest ported enclosure I can get away with. (4.25 cubes, net). Tune will be about 25Hz. I can fit a 18 incher in that box, and want to know if I would be gaining anything in an enclosure that small. Current plans are to use a 500W plate amp. I'm leaning toward the plate, mainly because I already have it, and I don't want fan noise. Maybe someone could also suggest an inexpensive, quiet, rack mount amp with DSP?

easiest way is to model it in WinISD- should only take a couple min.

I have two RSS390-HF in 3.6FT^ cabs tuned to 17 HZ and they are flipping insane...Shake our entire 1200FT^ townhouse. If i were you- Id rebuild the cabs- Mine may not be 4FT^ but i have a massive slot port in each. I cant remember exact size but think mines 1"H 17"W and 35/36"L

Could you swing the Marty Cube? Both of those drivers model well in that box and is only slightly larger at 4.75 cft. I built one as an end table with an UM18 but if I recall, the 390 & 460 HO's model flatter im that sized box vs the UM.

Nice looking box! I wanted to build one like that, but couldn't pass the WAF. Maybe sometime down the road.... Hmm, if I buy the 460 and another amp, I could keep the sealed 390 in service, even though it's kinda in the way. THEN, out of necessity, of course I need to build a end table like yours.
