Parts express box size recommendations

The box size PE has never lines up with what I come up with for WinISD. Are their (Bassbox) recommendations generally incongruent with WinISD?

The box sizes is mostly just a check box item for them. If you want to get their help on figuring box sizes you can message them.

box size can vary depending on a variety of things. there isn't really a 'right' answer. if you like the response that you are modelling and it fits within your space (and everything else looks good in the model, excursion, port velocity, etc.), then go with your model.

I agree- Bassbox pro sucks for box size. Take the RSS390HF- They have it listed as 8.96FT^ for 21 HZ tune....Mine are 3.8FT^ and have a 17/18HZ Tune... Massive difference. And believe me 3.8 or even 4FT^ is plenty for one these drivers. Things are scary good

This is what I was referring too. Mine are generally way different through WinISD

Although many of the BB pro PE sizes are more favorable for me. I’m looking at swapping the drivers in my existing 1.35 cuft box.

I’ll trust mine over PE default. I’m looking at some drivers from Madisound. Scanspeaks and SB acoustics

I’ll see what’s they say too

I haven’t modeled sealed in a while but holy cats do they look similar from an SPL perspective.
Transfer functions differentiate themselves but I’m not 100% sure what they mean
Should I be aiming for a QTc?

it isn't super important. if the qtc gets too high then it might not sound quite right. otherwise, it is mostly about how much power the driver can take and how much amp you have. larger boxes are more efficient on the low end, but some folks like small boxes for their aesthetics. :-)
