I’ll measure mine when I get home. Or someone might chime in before then. I’d really like to see the original product page from the site. That would help.

I could be interested, depending on price. The 1099 horizontal center is a tad too tall for my current setup. I could raise my wall mount to bring the TV up some, but that seems like a hassle to get the "1-2" I'd need. Would really like to see flat packs with these though.

I'll send Eminence an email on Monday to get a current price on the original 893 woofers. I think most of their 8" woofers have gone up in price around $4 - $6 in the past 3 years.

I’m really thinking about getting 3 for my LCRs with the center being horizontal or 3 HT8s or HT10s.

When I get mine fired up I’ll have you over to listen to them. Hopefully in two weeks I’ll be done.

Oh awesome, I’d appreciate that! Brian is getting a pair of HT-8s so hopefully I’ll get a chance to hear those too. Just debating between the size too.

It’s probably not much of a choice as of now, right? The 893’s aren’t available at the time. You might just have to choose the ht-8s.

True, but, if he brings them back they could be an option. Also, it’ll be a little while before I buy them so by the time I’m ready he may have them in stock since he mentioned he’s going to get the woofer made up again.

How would a pair of 893s compare to a pair of HTM-12s?

What are your impressions of the 893? Can you compare them to some other speakers you have heard?

If I could ever sell my current setup, I would be in for some LCR 893 action, otherwise, I would just go for the Apollo's.

This 8" dual-woofer format is the right size for me as well- if it ever happens!

@Erich H is there any news on the woofers and bringing the 893 back?

Did somebody mention Fusion 8's L&R??? I have been abusing a pair for about 4 years,,,a speaker that just keeps on giving. Currently pushing them with a DIY frankentubeweirdsetup - old motorola amp,,russian tubes,,,pioneer output transformers,,,some oddball preamp,,,and it sounds marvelous. DIY Soundgroup hit a home run with the Fusion 8's.

If the Cinema 8's/Fusion 8 MTM's were still available I might have been able to consider them as mains due to their narrow baffle.....I love the dual 8" woofers to help with capability down to an 80Hz crossover but just got in a pair of HTM-8's, which I really like for the larger SEOS waveguide. I think a lot of people would love to see the Fusion 8 redesigned with the 8" SEOS waveguide in both a single and dual driver arrangement for living room vs theater usage.

Same with the Fusion 8 center...just switch to the SEOS waveguide and make them a part of the HTM lineup. I say just....maybe its not that simple.

Yeah, that's the tricky bit. The wave guide in the HTM 8 is quite a bit wider. That pushed the woofers further apart. Besides making the center channel wider (I already had to cut the fusion center 8 down 1 1/8" to fit into my built-in), that causes the crossover to have to be modified so that it crosses over at a lower point. Sonically, I'm not sure if the difference between those two compression drivers, but I couldn't have lived with the revised form factor.

I really want this speaker back. I think i messed up not building ported towers for these. The woofer has lots of excursion and i think it could be used very efficiently in a ported tower. I’d buy at least two more if they came up as available again.
