Not that I have seen reported. Appears the NX is simply the NU in a new case (for the better, IMO).

Sub builds: Yet another Infinity 1260 build | Twins! | Modified V.B.S.S. build | UM12-22 builds | AV stand and sealed UM18s

Speaker builds: DIYSG HTM-10 build | DIYSG Volt-6 build | DIYSG Fusion-8 builds

The silver ones had at least two different fans.

My first one had screamers, the 2nd one's are much quieter.

Im trying to figure out if one of these will work with just a basic av reciever that only has a subwoofer RCA output, no neutrik jacks or preouts or anything. Where you can just use an RCA to XLR converter cable. I've read mixed results using those, where you have to buy a cleanbox, then those lose something under 20hz.

RR14 what is your plan to get the amp to auto turn on? Apparently you have to build some kind of relay box. Seems like there's lots of hoops to jump through to get a good amp. I just want something powerful, with RCA inputs, binding posts, that has an auto turn-on.

I'm not sure what kind of receiver you have but I can confirm the sub outputs on a Denon will drive a PA amp. No clean box needed.

The inukes have sufficient input sensitivity to be driven by Denon/Marantz; others do not, like the Peavey CS4080 I had previously.

For power-on you can use a smart power strip, but you'll get a thump at turnoff.

I just power mine on/off manually.

Is that hard on the driver, or just an annoyance?

That would depend on the drivers.

Since it's brief, thermal is not a concern, so I assume that as long as the VC doesn't hit the backplate, it's not an issue; mine don't.

I'm not sure if if EQ settings (if you have a DSP model) make a difference or if it's purely a matter of what's stored in the PS caps.
