Glad to hear you’re in! We just talked about you the other day. You have that beautiful theater, and I’d love to see you go nuts with subs like Jeremy did!

Well, we may just be doing some upgrades in the not too far off future and a few more subs may be in the ingredients! :-) I'll enjoy coming to see your two rooms and "feeling" what I am missing with only 2 18" Dayton Subs, and getting some ideas. Should be fun! Thanks for doing it again!

Just be warned. You'll definitely leave both our rooms wanting more subs. We both went to Mike's aka eng-399s room and left going back to the drawing board lol.

I would love to attend. Just built a new home with a 15x24x11 dedicated theater space and planned on Volts for surrounds and atmos so it would be great to audition them. Both theaters look amazing!

Seeing your spaces is going ti be life changing!! ha! I want to contribute so bringing a build to play with might be worth the trouble.

Slow and steady.... lol. Only took a year to get to this point. One more cab to go, its built in rough stages needs finishing and the expensive round things that go inside. That will be in the Fall.. Getting close.. First coat of duratex later this evening fir this one and hopefully drivers dropped in this weekend...

The fusion 12s would be nice. I'm trying to show one of my non theater buddies that is starting to build his room you dont need Cinema size speakers to have loud clear sound. I'll keep you as tentative but I have a good feeling about this time that you'll stay healthy.

This as I just finalized plans with my builder for a 9' basement... someone else comes along and goes DEEPER.

I may actually bring some SketchUp drawings of my future setup (September-ish we close on the new build); this being my second theater, we should definitely drink a beer together and discuss. Absolutely consider sound proofing, given you have the depth for it.

It's gonna be an exciting summer, that's for sure!

Make sure it's a final height of 9 feet. My parents got hosed on that. Builders dug a 9 foot hole then poured 6 inches of concrete for the floor. Then the plumbing and hvac people ran everything under the floor joists leaving about 7'8" of usable height.

I'm sorta kinda working with a Buyer's Agent that knows a few things about basement home theaters with respect to new builds. I've had an architect revamp the basement for maximum space usage and minimal intrusion, and I'll be present when the concrete and support poles are placed, HVAC is ran, and so forth. Sadly, a deeper pour killed my budget, and I had to keep my wife happy with all the things she wanted in the house of course.

If anyone looks at my old build thread with the [email protected] I had to deal with from Wyland/Lennore Discount Builders Inc. (name changed for my protection) to build my little theater a few years ago, pretty much ANYTHING this time around would be considered an improvement. I'm also not using an ultra-mega builder this time, but a local guy.

But enough on my situation. Back to our regularly scheduled discussion on GTGs and crazy substages.

I did a 9' basement in the last home I built in 2005 and it was only $900 extra, currently builders here upcharge $1500 to go 9' (that's unfinished basement). On this new home I went 9' again but had excavators dig an extra 2' in the theater area, the only additional cost was $500 for cement so it was a no brainer.

Contrats on the new home! I'd really like to discuss ideas as this is my first truly dedicated theater. I hope to start a build thread soon to get input and bounce ideas off of others.

I can't wait til August, hd0823 and Jk7.2 theaters look awesome and give me inspiration and motivation to get cracking on mine. These will be the first two real home theaters I'll experience, I can't wait to see and hear them in person!

Can't wait for you to check out our rooms and hopefully give you some ideas or knowledge. Jared's aka jk7.2 room was the first dedicated theater I had ever been in and it was during my build process. It definitely motivated me to get it done quicker. I didnt realize that bass could get that loud in a home environment. I tell him all the time I blame him for this bass addiction lol. I was watching aquaman today at -22 below reference had my 6 month baby in there with me so had to keep it down and the bass was still super tactile refrence is for sure going to do some damage lol and what I'm planning in the back of the room before the g2g is going to make it even more devastating in there.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing alot of the names on the list are new names which it's always fun meeting new people in theis hobby. We both have crazy rooms but are both diffrent at the same time to. I definitely can tell your room digs deeper than mine and the nearfields are downright brutal.I just have the suspended floor helping me out to make things shake. It would be sweet to put your system on a suspended floor.

Man I’ve been working hard to get a few projects done for this GTG. I know my HTM-8 towers will be worth showing, I’m also building HT-8’s in the flat pack cabs. And, I’m building two more ported 15’s for subs. All this will be shown in my living room. Any speakers brought over will have an easy place to do A/B comparisons. Even though my living room isn’t acoustically treated, I think speakers sound good in here. Hoping to see more guys join the attendees list!
