It isnt quite 90, but I just attached it the same way. I put plenty of pl in that joint. Up to this point I've use 1 full 28oz tube (3 regular tubes).

When the driver is sealed in the inner chamber, is a high-pass filter still required?

Not yet! My in-laws are in town now from out of state so I think this will be on pause for the weekend. We'll see.

They couldn't fit the meiter they were going to bring out so I'll probably try to spend time with them and the wife.

MDF could be used but its going to weigh a ton. You'll still have to kregg everything. It would be very difficult to clamp everything if not impossible

Got all of the bracing cut except for the port bracing. The bracing between panel A and B are all installed. Still need to kreg all the bracing for the other panels. Hopefully I'll still get to it this weekend.

Hey, I know you switched out from I believe the UMs to 21ds115s. Did the gains go beyond just having an increase in output capability?

I helped him do the swap so I’ll comment.
This is a difficult thing to compare, because we did the um18 swap and added the other two V3’s at the same time. So we didn’t do a comparison of the 18 vs the 21. All we heard was the 2 18’s, then 4 21’s in the V3’s. But with the 21’s added sensitivity and cone area, I think they dig a little deeper, are easier to drive with the amps, and obviously the added output. His room pressurizes like nothing I’ve felt before. I ran sine waves at -10 down to 12 hz or so and the output was incredible. It doesn’t just flap your pant legs. It flaps whole people.

Port braces cut and installed, hatch cut out and side B glued down.

Now I just need to make a hatch install the driver and do the filling/sanding/painting. Not in that order necessarily

I'm having withdrawals not being able to work on the sub for the past two days. It will be Friday before I can do anything else. I'm also brainstorming how to convince my wife I need another one of these before I even complete this one. Lol

In reality, I probably need to get new surround speakers first. That and it will be good to listen to this one with the new speakers once they get built (HT12 LCR). Maybe I wont "need" another one.

Erich made the following comment about my order of HT12s...

"You will need a
pretty powerful subwoofer to keep up with those."

Think the submaximus has that covered?

My space is 4000ft^3 main room open to a 2000ft^3 kitchen, a hallway and a staircase.

MLP is about 10 feet from the front 3 speakers. The submaximus will be in the corner about 12 feet away.

6K!

even if you weren't using a V3,
most here, for that sized space, would instantly say
multiples
and it wouldn't be just more is going to be better
but in that much space, 1 sub, even Max, is going to feel lonely and lost . .

that's 40 ft^3 of sub vs 6K ,
and the staircase connects to how much more space?
the ratio is 1: 150, at least
i don't think that's a significant thing in the world of HT
but- c'mon

hope you don't have(too many) placement restrictions

10 feet from the LCR, HT 12's, with the 15" SEOS horns
you be rockin' it

this is about 11 ft, mol, from dem horns . .

You may have missed it above, but I also have dual VBSS nearfield.

The reason I said this sub is going in the corner is because that's where I was already using my full Marty. My room measured well with the Marty there and the VBSS nearfield, so the submax should work well there too. I'll do plenty more measuring to figure out what will work best.

If I want to, I could they the submaximus on its side and make it nearfield. Not sure if that would be too crazy or not.

The staircase goes to a frog which has a door.

don't hesitate when it comes to going full throttle for optimized EQ and integration

if you have good BM, those HT12's will be "small"- but so are those F15's - oh well . . .

this will be even more interesting.

did you get the flatpacks?

after build 3 BFM THTLP's, my first DIYSG flatpack was an 88 Special-
enough to make you stop and think,at least for a little while

If it was me I would do multiple but I like down right stupid spl levels lol. but dont worry if you where happy with your setup before you'll be beyond impressed after this. The way ltd02 explained it to me is that a v3 is equivalent to about 3 full martys

So in essence you have what would be equivalent to 12 Marty’s in your room...

And your thinking of adding a couple of Devastators in the back of your room. Your poor home, I actually feel bad for it. The potential sonic destruction....

I'm sure this next g2g I'll be doing more repairs.im on a suspended floor so it's on the first level of the house and it sounds like the house is falling apart lol. Is the submaximus the highest performing single driver sub that digs to ~15hz? I know other horns have higher output at 30hz and up.

From what I've seen (and I've tried to read a lot) it is. I've glanced at the Gallejhorn, f20, lilwrecker, devastator, tht etc...

Ok that explains it. You have enough space that it is not such a tight fit. The area i am going to use on my house is 10' from the neighbors house. Fortunately it is their garage there but still. Watching you guys build these monsters kind of makes me want a pair when i do my room. But between the fact it will be a 15' x 17' room and i have a pair of Hs-24 and then a pair of B&C 21's in these horns would be super cool but probably a little more than the room needs. It sure would be awesome though.
