What's your budget? How much space do you have for subs? How large is the room? What are you looking for in the sub, rumbling for movies, precision for music?

You can always turn it down, but you can only turn it up so much (before you run out of power, excursion or structural integrity).

The space not an issue but my budget is in the Monoprice ballpark.

Do you want to do all the cutting yourself or looking for a flat pack? Getting into two UM18s in full martys should be doable!

you got me thinking on the cheap UM18 flatpack. With monoprice HDMI cables I didn't have much luck using them with Fios cable, ATV4k & LG OLED 65 inch noting but heartache. I am using Audioquest HDMI cables so far so good .

Not a problem. Kevin is a great guy to work with, you can give him a call.

I got the four-pack of mini martys from GSG, running with UM-18's and two NX6000d amps. The build was a breeze and the result is fantastic (and all for less than the price of a single high end sub). I have a 4000 cubic foot theater room, open in the back, and they are thunderous. They play music well, and tv is great, but for bluray movies they are positively grin inducing. I watched interstellar last night and had to turn the volume down to -25 at parts for fear I might break my house, lol.
Soccerdude and sassuki like this.

SPEAKERS: 3 x DIYSG 1099's LCR; DIYSG HTM 6's and 8's surround; 4 x RSL C34E's atmos.
SUBS: 4 x UM18-22 Mini Marty's and 2 x 21DS114-4 Devastators
SIGNAL CHAIN: Denon X4400; Minidsp 2x4 HD; 2 x Jensen Iso Sub 2RX; 3 x NX6000d.

I am also running 4 ported UM 18s and love the black hole scene near the end of interstellar. The parts of that movie where they have the music come in with the sound effects like the rocket launch are awesome.
