Sub build in electric fireplace

I’m looking to build 2 possible 3 subwoofers.
Living room is 12x14x12 high with an a frame and open to kitchen on one side. It’s a condo so I can’t have volume too high but I want good base down to 20-25 hz.

First, I found a Bic f-12 for $75 on offer up. Should I get that just bc it’s so cheap?

I was considering building a corner sub and still am, but I found a space behind my electric fireplace that is about 40”x16”x8” but I could extend the depth of 8” a little. So it’s about 3’ cubed. It’s under the TV, but 2’ off the floor and the speaker would point towards the wall.

Would this be a good spot? If so could you recommend a good sub to put in it?

That's a good deal on the F12, might be worth grabbing it and using it while you figure out a good DIY option.
