We have designs for 21s, 18s and 15s , 12s? I have plenty of jbl's brought from bestbuys thanksgiving sale and a couple of infinity 1262's if I can make better use of them in a small enclosures.
I had to settle with ported boxed for my lavoces 21s due to available space especially in depth, couldn't go beyond 20". I may squeeze in mini with 24" but sure they can't be near with just ported lavoces 21s. But sure I will build the minis or mbm 30 to utilize my pa460s on hand for study room.

I looked into a full range Dev for 15"s and it is down about 7db at 20Hz vs the 18"s, which is down about 4db at 20Hz from the 21"s. The PA460s in the Minis will have a lot more mid bass than the VBSS, if you do not mind the added complexity of the enclosure.

You can always turn it down, but you can only turn it up so much (before you run out of power, excursion or structural integrity).

I haven't simmed it, but looking at the specs yeah it would do just fine. The mini would most likely be the most ideal. The SAF is not expected in till 11/26 now

Narrow Mini Devastator 18"

Another addition to the Devastator family the Narrow Mini Devastator has been designed to work in @Audiophile75's space The tune comes out to a calculated 20Hz and the length of the front resonator is very close to that of the standard Mini Devastator, just a little was taken off for added port height. Note that the panel overlap is not standard, it is close to the Micro Devastator. Sim is calculated using the SAF184.03, port velocity is down slightly.

Thank you @redfive for working on this for me.
So, what's cool about this design besides the 21” width? Well for starters this design was also though of for the pa460 as I have two just laying around with the intentions to upgrade at a later day. As discussed by us the pa460 will take 300w at max excursion which will be at a 10db loss at 20hz compared to the SAF184.03 at 1300w. So, when do the SAF’s go on sale? Lol.
I guess I know what at I’m doing this weekend.

Mini Devastator 21" Version

This is a slightly beefed up version of the Mini for 21" subs, such as the SAN214.50 This gives the sub a little more breathing room than the standard Mini. The simulation is done with 91 volts/1600 watts going into the Lavoce SAN214.50 with the standard inductance model. A 20Hz 2nd order HPF is active. Port velocity is under Eminence recommendation of 34m/s and considering the output is over 117db when it is at the highest point I doubt that is what you will be hearing 91 volts is the expected power output of a NX3000 bridged at 20Hz for longer than just a fraction of a second. The point of resonance is moved up a little vs the v1 since quarter wave resonator is shorter.

@johnson636

It is under the attachments for the MBM. You can see 1w1m sensitivity is pretty close. Excursion should be a little less on the MBM with the higher tune.

Micro Devastator Full Range 15"

This is the Micro Devastator Full Range, for when you are tight on space and still want a good punch! Sub mounting - 8.5in from the top of the baffle and centered on the baffle. The cutout for the rear hatch assembly is 8in. Panel overlap is not standard, pay close attention, matches the MBM version cabinet. Port routing is the same as the Mini Devastator. Models are done on the Lavoce WAF154.00. The PA380 should be another budget option for this sub. I would also image the 15TBW100 will also work fine. The input information is in the attachments along with a few more shots of the CAD.

1000 watts for this and the other sims. 20Hz 2nd Order HPF is active.

Bmd omega v1 24"

BMD OMEGA!!! Designed for the HS 24MKIII this is the low end beast no one really needs, but this is AVS! 5000 watts peak is what the box is designed for. Graphs are all calculated based on 5000 watts with a 15Hz 2nd Order HPF enabled. Cut out 3 inches of material from the front rail, no chance of the sub hitting the rail. The cutout diameter is 22.5 for the sub with 1.5 inches between the top of the cutout and the top of the rear chamber. Tune is estimated around 16Hz. NOTE: THIS BOX VARIANT REQUIRES THE HS24 TO BE SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR FRONT MOUNTING WHEN YOU PURCHASE IT.

I like hiding things in the attachments.... I noticed HR has the same velocity calculation for a bass reflex box as this sixth order bandpass. Excursion is a little lower on the bandpass, I would guess velocity would be a little lower too. Originally it peaked at 34m/s and I could not be happier, but the sub would not fit so I had to add more volume which pushed it up over 35m/s. The horn has a good velocity on it too, I would image TR is going to be impressive on this one.

Not sure where this was asked (so I'm cross posting it in a few diff threads)....

Regarding the SI 24" driver and "back mounting it", while possible, not sure I'd take the gamble. This is taken from Ricci's SHS-24 review (link)

Quote:
The surround is glued and clamped to the frame lip with a set of 8 aluminum clamps. These give the front of the driver frame a distinctive look. It is recommended not to remove these but if they were it would be possible to back mount the driver, if the application required it.

The little dips in the front of the frame are going to be fun to seal. Yeah not recommended to remove that front piece... Does Si have a different front surround kit for front mounting?

If there is one, I've never heard it discussed or seen it. That said, I'm by no means the expert on Nicks stuff, just an avid fan of large high performance drivers in general, so I do a lot of reading.....

I'm sure one could be fabbed up by someone somewhere if they were given the proper spec's, but no idea on cost.

This might be a viable work around solution. Keeps the driver flush with the horn, so it should stay closer to the simulation since it will be recessed about 1.5 inches or flush with the front chamber wall. Spacer and chamber wall are cut out 25"s, outside diameter is said to be 24.5". A crap ton of screws will be used on the removable baffle to hold the woofer to the spacer and the chamber wall. This way the woofer is mounted on the rear flange and that makes sealing it a lot easier.... Thoughts? Since I moved the woofer down, it will have a steeper roll off on the right side.

Nick has a 24 front mounted in a VW, IB manifold. I'll ask him what he did. Although it may be back mounted onto a baffle then bolted to the manifold.

You thinking of building a pair to . These really will be easy to work into the basement. I'm finishing 2000sq ft next year and am going to hide these so they wont be visible. It will just be a suprise to people getting blasted with a wall of bass.

Just one to what it's like. I don't really have a place to put one so I'll likely just scrap it after the newness wears off.

If you can get that info that would be great for choosing which path to take. I have the CAD file updated with the spacer and removable manifold, but I have to do the math again to see what it looks like in HR and make a new cut list.
