Eminence Delta Pro-18C vs PA460

Has anyone tried the Delta Pro 18c?

I’m currently building some mini devastators, so my brand new MBM is loosing its woofer. It’s too nice of a box to waste, so I started playing in WInISD. By plugging one of the two ports, it gives me a 26hz tune. With a PA460 on 500w, port velocity is well under 20 m/s. Should make a killer music sub for my shop.

Now the problem. I have a dayton 500w plate amp. Specs are 273w at 8ohm and 540w at 4ohm.

After cruising PE for a bit, I discovered the Eminence Delta Pro-18C. Plugging it into WinISD shows a 3.5db advantage. However, the woofer is $80 more. Its also hitting 10mm excursion on 540w (xmax 6.7, xlim 19)

Does anyone have experience with the Eminence, or any reason not to use it?

Does anyone have a 500w @8ohm amp suggestion for around $80? (Hah, but thought I’d ask)

I plan to use an audiocontrol 2xs crossover I have from an old car install. I will have adjustable lowpass and highpass for the woofer, and highpass for the speakers.

Thanks,
Chris
