I’m tuning currently, tried compression sweeps again. The umik tapped out before the mini dev’s.
My sealed ht18’s have tapped too, get a snap/pop sound during sustained rumble. Hope I didn’t cook one or both.
The mini dev’s simply don’t care, just keep getting louder.

There’s some incentive for ya.

My buddies did the cutting for me, but that leaves me with sanding. Apparently MDF is used a lot in cabinet building so no complaints about it from the one with the shop. MDF goes together quick which I like, the ply would require more wrestling and I worry more about warping. I wish there was a perfect material.

I am thinking of changing my paint direction, the project budget is getting pretty tight and this is much cheaper than the Sherwin Williams stuff....

Should work. And if not, just paint over the top in the future.

At least you all have the woofers and amp. Now its just the little stuff to nickel and dime you.

Not sure its ideal either, has a different resonance to it.

Could try 3/4 HDPE sheet, that stuff is pretty nice to work with.

Picky picky.

I use small pieces of thinner hdpe for automotive speaker baffles, no moisture concerns.

I used mdf on the mini’s cause its cheap, finishes nice, and I didn’t feel like reworking your cut sheets for BBP.

I’m using arauco ply on the submax’s because its lighter and will take pocket hole screws. I need 9 sheets, so BBP was way out of the budget.

I was running the RP1 bomb scene last night, since it really caused issues for my sealed subs. (Ended up with a new tune with the sealed 6db down, lol)
Once I had everything playing well, sat down at MLP and enjoyed it. The amount of air movement felt from the mini’s is crazy. That’s 8ft from the mouth. Might as well have a fan on.
I just keep enjoying these subs more every time I use them.

@Red Five , not to rush your build or anything

Ya kno, I haven’t thrown that one in yet. The TR just from my DS mbm was stupid. Guess I know what I’m doing when I get home today.

JW1 club is fun. I have played that one a few times.

Sounds like you have some homework! There is the one gun shot in the JW1 club scene with with LLTs has crazy wobble. The one that breaks the glass from the club house going up the stairs.

Yeah, the boss is active on that one. The shots have strong higher freq too, nice chest slam
Tuning nightmares, concrete floor, and BOSS steered me away from LLT’s.
Plus a pair of Submax’s just seems way stupider, in a good way

It is weird to think that I think my 21DS115 was running out of mid bass headroom for a lot of that stuff. I could get some more head room when I lowered the crossover on the fronts to 70Hz lol. I am curious how the Minis will compare with rather silly levels of head room in the mid bass region.

I have my mini’s chopped down 15+db at the top to flatten response, and haven’t run out of headroom. And I’m only sending them 1250w each. I think you’ll be ok.

Actually they do...... I invite them over for movie nights....
The only neighbor that is really affected is the one above me..... I'm on the 2nd floor above the supers storage room. On my left is the neighbors kitchen and on my right is the elevator....

Just got new neighbors above me.... we will see how they like the new system.....
It's going to be sick..... I lost half my dishes to the launch in Interstellar with the Full Martys I have....
