It is not a coincidence, named after the Darth lord's capitol ship from Rogue One and A New Hope. The later episodes the capitol ship was The Executor. That's why we joke about what sub will get that name lol.

I look forward to building this one, it's absolutely massive at 43" long.

Was curious where you put your speaker posts on the Mini, just want to have an idea during my build.

I put them on the hatch with 3 ft of speaker wire between the posts on the cabinet and the subwoofer. It is a little tight under the 2x4" frame and the vent for putting it there, so I went 1in under the H brace.

Ran a little war mode, above 20Hz with the latest filters we get TR and all that fun stuff. Infrasonic is too caulled now, but we are getting closer. I guess I will try a lower HPF filter, maybe go back up to a 4th order and see how it handles. I think the key will be balancing sub power draw above and below 20Hz.

I got mine tucked between the port and the 2x4 brace, but it is snug. I considered putting it in the hatch, but liked being able to get the wire short enough that it can’t rattle against anything.

Bigger than a mini devastator.

Lego’s were my favorite toys growing up. My parents and grandma were awesome enough to get me one of the giant ones for birthday and Christmas every year. I actually still have a few of my favorites in my computer room.

Great you’re doing some with your son.

Are you still planning a BOSS to supplement the low end?

What did you change to improve TR?

Eventually I would like to get a BOSS, I have time to decide on order of things to add.

I set the curve to be -3db at 30Hz and then down at -9db at 20Hz, flat above that based on the sim. The TR in the mid 20s to 50Hz is much improved. The rave in JW2 is just pounding you the whole time. I lost some weight though. I think -6 to -7db might be the better target at 20Hz for my overly bass sucking room. Maybe -2db at 30Hz.

That is a great use of family time.....builds great bonds.
Legos are all fun and games UNTIL you step on one in the middle of the night on the way to the bathroom....LOL. If you have been there, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.....

Looks awesome!

Sorry if this was covered, but how are these being powered? Are they in parallel on the 3000dsp in bridged mode? I have an NX6000D-- if I built 2 of the minis with the SAF184.03 what would be the best way to power it? Parallel off of 1 channel, or each on its own channel?

NU3000DSP, I was running bridged into them, but the SANS are 2.75 ohms in parallel, that is a bit much for the Nuke to handle. I would run one off of each channel of the 6000. 5.8 Ohms on a channel will be a lot easier on the amp and if stuff gets bent out of shape, you will have less chance of damaging any subs. There is a version two of the Mini 18" that has better low end, I would do that one if I were building again...

I ran into an issue with one of my subs, but the warranty is all straightened out and I am back up and running! This is one of these instances where I wish I was not pressed in time for documenting some of this stuff with pictures. I am sure I had some minute air leaks before I put them back together this round. Sealing the hatch, I added a piece of gasket tape in each corner where the tape meets and creates a seam. The 2x4s were not real straight, that created a depression where they met on one corner, I doubled the tape there and added a strip of tape behind the primary strip. The woofer gasket has a little seam as well, I added a strip of gasket tape behind the seam there too. They sound even tighter this round. A few more changes, I moved them off the wall a foot and went from 4 Ohms bridged to two 8 Ohm loads. I noticed the AVR has different delays on each sub despite each sub being equal distance from the MLP. I have not had an opportunity to push them a little just yet.

The Crown CTS 2000s just barely fit! The clarity and volume of sound that now comes out of the Minis is awesome! Something is a bit suspect on the NU3000DSP at this point. I am only using one amp with the two Minis, the amps bridged would be too much for the SAN184.03s.

The long term plan (at the moment) is going to be M18V6s loaded with something (like an 18DS) that can take a lot of punishment. The amps give me at least four channels at 1000 watts RMS. It might take awhile, but I am aiming at 3 sub locations

Just wanna throw this out there that any other wood than composite sheets like MDF or ply will expand much more and much more unevenly with temperature and especially moisture. If you mix wood types it gets even worse. The 2x4 will expand more than the MDF, so it'll curve the whole assembly concave seen from the outside, the same way a bi-metal relais works.

Fortunately the climate in the basement is stable, so I have not seen any warping or movement. If these boxes were moving a lot and going inside and out I would use Baltic Birch all around for several reasons.

Edit: the top hatch does eliminate the 2x4s which I wanted to do mostly for them being a pain in the rear and eating up a lot of displacement.
