Quad HS-24 Ported build

I was recently asked to design and build four ported cabinets for some HS-24s that are being purchased in the Black Friday sale. The only problem, I have to finish them the weekend after Thanksgiving!!!!This is the progress from week one. Tonight I should be able to glue on the baffle and get started on number 2 and 3 Saturday. I spent a lot of the week building a giant out feed table for the table saw that will allow me to cut a full sheet of MDF. It takes a few minutes to setup, but it makes the job sooooooo much easier. I'll post the specs later. They're around 19ft^3 tuned to 17-18ish Hz. I'm sure the proud owner of these bad boys will weigh in soon enough on the thread. Needless to say, his custom theater is going to be incredible.

Wow that will be quite the setup. I can't wait to hear the spec's on these monsters, and the listing impressions. Keep up the great work.

Beautiful work so far! My back hurts just looking at those - I'm guessing around 325 lbs with the driver installed? How will you finish them? Duratex?

Yep, good ole DuraTex. As for the weight, I would guess 350-450 finished. I'll weigh each piece this weekend while I build the others, see if I can get an accurate number.

I'll post some specs soon, but off memory, 27.75" W, 23.5"D, 74.5" T...These have changed a bit to better use a sheet of MDF though.

Yeah, I warned him that he was about to put some serious fire power in that room, he didn't flinch. I wouldn't be able to be in that room during a full tilt demo.

Isn't quad 24's the minimum that every HT should have, or am I really that far gone? (I think I already know the answer! )

In any case, if he is upgrading from nearly any other subwoofer(s), he is about to get his eyes opened wide.

Today was very productive. I got the outer baffle glued on number two, and got everything built on number three minus the outer baffle. I'll have to hold off a bit on these for a couple days to get the other two sealed cabinets ready for painting.

I made some good progress this weekend. Aside from some little odds and ends, they're built and ready for finishing. I should be able to start painting Wednesday.
