TSCVR15 sub, 775watt wired at 2ohm

hey could the TSCVR15 handle 775watt at 2ohms if wired down to a singal 2ohm config the rms per coil is 250watts

combind to 500watts rms ,775 watts is 275 over total but is only 112.5watts over per coil

would this be ok long term use an not kill the sub or the amp the amp is the crown 1502

So..... what part of 775 is MORE than 500 are you not getting?? If the MAX is 500, what do you think will happen with 775? I'm curious....

Watch the volume and sure.... but careful or you'll let the smoke out.

Any speaker can benefit from amplifier headroom IMO. Easier to avoid clipping and THD issues when you aren’t pushing the amp to its limits. The problem comes when you try to push the driver too far and exceed either mechanical or thermal limits. Which results in either the mechanical damage, or letting the magic smoke out. Either way, you now have a large paperweight.

Mechanical limits are pretty easy to model, thermal limits are much harder to determine. The question is usually if the manufacturer rated wattage due to mechanical limits in recommend enclosure, or thermal limits. Also, how much of a thermal safety factor, and whether its rated for clean power or assumes clipping.
