Fi HT3 VS Mach 5 IXL build help

I'm looking to add 2 18" subwoofers to my home theatre, want to try something a little different than the Dayton Ultimax

I've been eyeing up the Fi HT3, and putting it in a similar sized box to a mini marty. but was going to do 24"wx26"Dx36" tall, 3- 3"tx40"L slotted ports minus bracing and such should be around 22hz tune and 8^ft

manufacturer suggest box size ported 6-8ft and tuned at 26hz
I put those spces in WinISD and it shows a bit of a hump 26-60hz thats but at 22hz tune it's a little flatter
Is there a downside to tuning lower?

I'll be running a behringer NX3000D for each one

Next option is a Mach 5 IXL
Here are the projected numbers for the IXL-18:

Fs - 23.7Hz

Re - 3.6

Sd - 1029cm2

Cms - 165um

Mms - 272.6g

BL - 16.45

Qes - 0.541

Qms - 6.89

Qts - 0.501

VAS - 247.8L

I also recieved this info from dealer
The unit is rated for 700 watts. For ported, I don't know what your

desire is, but if you want to use it for HT you can get decent use with 14

cubes, depending on your tuning

Does this box seem too large? i punched these number in WinISD and it's close but about 3db lower than the HT3 with 700W
but at 1800W they are pretty comparable is that too much power for these, i know they are rated 700w but i think lots of guys have ran older models harder?
And as far as cone excursion 2000W seems to not even get the HT3 close to max where 3000W is still safe,

is this too high or port velocity in this box?
any reccomendations? or advice?

thanks for the help in advance

I'm going to be honest, while I understand the draw in the idea of going outside the norm, the UM18 is as popular as it is because it is such a good driver at a good price. That said, the HT3 is a solid option, but the IXL isn't on the UM18's level.

I built dual 6 cubic ft sealed Fi Car HT3's. I power them with a single NX6000D, one for each channel. Nothing against the UM18, I just wanted to go a different route than the dozens of UM threads on here. I love them and they can take a pounding.

I've been really happy with my UXL-18s. If you want a little more than the IXL's offer then they'd be a great choice. Build in my sig.
