DIYSG Apollo compared to Helix

I've gotten a pair of Helix MT built and curiosity between the two is still getting the better of me. Have you heard both kits? maybe even both in MTM config

I'm curious about both HT and music, but any thoughts are appreciated

I haven't heard either but I just bought some Helix MTM kits (they'll actually be delivered today) and compared the two. From a numbers perspective, the Helixs have slightly higher sensitivity but the Apollos extend slightly lower. I went with the Helixs since I'll be running them with subs. I didn't see much (any?) reviews on the Apollo kits but the Helixs seem to be well regarded.

Apollo are also 4ohms (vs 8 for the Helix), but I guess the MTM's in all kits are also 4ohms.

Personally, I'd like to know which present the best soundstage and imaging. They both look plenty capable of having good bass response.

Did you end up ordering one of the MTM kits? I have also been torn between the two, leaning a bit towards the Apollo MTMs. Curious if anyone out there has listened to both?

i have a trio of Helix MTM's and they are very enjoyable. I dont plan on building anything else for a while. I asked Erich's opinion on the helix vs the apollo a while back and he thought that the Helix have the better tweeter of the 2. The bass extension is negligable, the helix do bass really well.

Go with the Helix to honor Jeff Bagby IMO.
