Neighborhood Dance Party

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a few pics of a neighborhood dance party setup from yesterday. We invited our neighbors over to dance (socially distanced) in our driveway. For the sound, I used my ported 1299's along with 8 VBSS's. To power everything I used 3 QSC PL236 amps. It sounded fantastic! The best compliment I got from a neighbor compared the sound to a nightclub. 1299's can play very loud and clean without any fatiguing - thx @Erich H The VBSS's easily kept up. From 50+ feet away the bass was still tangible - thx @mtg90

A big thanks to everyone that contributes on this forum!

Dave

I have hooks mounted on my garage walls, and I hang the VBSS subs on them.

Yeah, no problem. Here are some pics. On the subs, it's just large eyebolts. I use 1/2" eyebolts. On the wall, I mount a 2X4 cleat and then mount the hooks to them. The hooks are just "rope hooks" from Ace Hardware. I have 10 VBSS subs mounted in my garage this way. I'll soon be adding a few more to get them off the ground. Let me know if any of this wasn't clear.

I like the eyebolts and hooks. Great idea! I might use that in my new shop. It looks like you have a kinda standoff on the eyebolts. Did those come built in like that or did you add that part?

Technically given my ambiguous comment and the subject we are discussing you could choose one of two....

The famous “Wall of Sound”.

OR

“Blown Away”

Hello @paintguy

I attached a few pictures of the eyebolts types I've used. Hopefully the pictures will make it clear. Please feel free to ask any more questions. I used 1/2-13 bolts/nuts/washers. I've had these on my garage walls for years and they've been fine. I'm sure there are other better ways to hang subs, but this is the best way I've figured out.

Ahhh, I see now. Kinda like a turnbuckle in there. I like it! Thanks for the clarification.

Awesome. It has crossed my mind to take my Vortex-15s and 8x JBLs out on the deck and spontaneously blast the block.

Do it! But my suggestion is to take requests from your neighbors.
